For some reason, I don't feel 100 percent comfortable hitching our wagon to NCCU. Look at how the Aggie-Eagle Classic in Raleigh turned out. The jack legged promotors in that fiasco still owe us about five figures. And I don't think Central did enough on their end to make that event profitable.
One thing history has proven is that Central will always find a way to drop the ball when money is on the line. Going into longterm business with them could be a precarious situation, to say the least.

Ditto, the concern with NCCU, a non conference member, WSSU is basically a conference member, I think its too early to commit to NCCU as a long term schedule we can make more funds with pay games, to subsidized another school is a big ticket when we don't have the funding we need, hopefully this is a statement for the mass of Aggies, I see no reason to continue the series it only presents an opportunity for negative PR, this proposal will be the beginning of the end, it is clear that the majority of the conference is moving away from the so-called rivalry games, this game was not played during my college years and the Raleigh situation and home game last year clearly show that it will be a problem. No disrepsect but the little TV $$ in the conference will only go so far, only a school that has adequate facilities should be committed to on a home and home but like Dee he is the boss now and maybe thats what got him his job, good luck already have my three season tickets,,love for the Aggies

Unless he finds a guaranteed source of revenue, I'm not feeling the "classic thing" with NCCU again. I'm ok with playing one against WSSU if the money is right.

I think Mr. Wheeler Brown will handled the Aggie-Eagle Classic business differently than it was done in the past. If NCCU does not cooperate then it will not happen. Also, the black state politicians and other outside people will not have much influence on determining whether this game will be played or not. The last three A&T ADs tried to move the game to Aggie Stadium. They were held in check by Renick and NCCU refusal to come to Greensboro. I think all three ADs wanted to drop NCCU. NC State made more money on the Classic over the 7 or so years than A&T and NCCU combined!!
I think for most Aggies who don't have access to A&T top administrators, we are happy to see a competent person with a friendly face and someone we can trust in these decisionmaking positions at A&T.
I am happy Mr. Wheeler Brown got the job. I am also confident that BluedeathValley will keep him "on his toes" to make sure the Aggies are moving forward toward regaining our crowns. umm this part does sound a little too sappy

personally, i think wheels is on to something. i think annual classics with nccu and wssu would be lucrative if handled the "right way".
1. first and foremost, we need to take the middle man out of the equation. 2. secondly, we need to make nccu sign contractual terms that basically say if either institution "is responsible" for igniting any level of physical violence (like central was last year) they stand to forfeit a significant share of their negotiated profits (let's say 50% of their net payout). i'd bet you wouldn't see no more incidents like last year! 3. the classic football games should be supplemented by highly attractive social events like concerts, dances, comedy shows, step shows, battle of bands, et cetera. this will create a football rivalry atmosphere that's a total happening, not just a football game. 4. last but certainly not least, the classics must be thoroughly promoted and not just in north carolina. we have strong alumni presence in nearby cities/states that are willing to make the trip for a well planned classic. dc, atlanta, hampton roads for example.
i think wheels hit the nail squarely on the head! when he said all he needs is to put gas in the rolls, that what he's talkin' 'bout. for aggie athletics to go to the next level, we need to substantially increase our athletics fund. one way of doing that is by maximizing our potential to bring in revenue at the box office...
