we aggies have a lot to be unhappy about with our football program, that goes without saying. but could we at least start this season on a united front in support of our football team? some of us such as myself are excited about the prospect of better things to come this season and i'm ready to go scream my brains out on opening night. but despite my optimism, it is so deflating to go into a brand new season with optimism when part of the aggie family is disgruntled.
to my disgruntled fellow aggies, you have every right to be disgruntled. i feel your pain too. but "please" don't put a damper on the enthusiasm of those of us who want to be positive and do everything we can to support and uplift the aggie football team. nobody loses games on purpose, these guys and coaches want to win too.
so i encourage my fellow disgruntled aggies who are justifiably disgruntled, to please tone down the negativity for the sake of the guys in the trenches and your fellow aggies in the stands. who knows, you may be pleasantly surprised this year...

Don't be fooled. The ones on this board who do the loudest complaining are usually the ones doing the most screaming at the games as well.

From the Virginian Pilot:
And the beat goes on
The biggest fans of North Carolina A&T this season? All the MEAC coaches, none who want to be the first to be upset by the Aggies, who have lost their past 27 games. That ranks as the longest losing streak in Division I.
Returning coach Lee Fobbs insists he's not deterred, and though he won't say which games his team will win, he promises the Aggies will find their way into the win column this season.
"I want to go on record right now and say we're going to win some games this season," said Fobbs, beginning his third season.
The reason behind the bold prediction? Experience, Fobbs said. "Last year we had five seniors. This year we have 18 or 19 seniors and a class of juniors that have grown up."
First opponent up? Division II Johnson C. Smith.
That's what I'm talking about! I want to see continued confidence from the coaching staff. [/b]

Well you point out the 'optimistic' corner of the stadium, and I'll be sure not to sit there.
But if the team stinks, I'm gonna tell them that they stink!!! If this offends parents of the athletes, tell them to tell their kids to play better and stop wasting that scholarship.
It would be something if these were handicapped kids or nonscholarship kids, but these kids are on scholarship and we as fans and suppporters expect a better effort by them and their sorry-a$$ coach.
That doesn't mean that I expect them to win every game, but I at least expect something better than that Marx brothers act we've had to witness over the past few years.

I've never been one to boo the team.
Except for that one time when me and 'thrilla started the "da daaa da, HEY! WE SUCK!" chant in Small's last year.
Otherwise I'll yell and throw stuff at the coach all day. He gets paid to take it. I'm a firm believer that a team is only as good as they are coached to be. If a player ain't playing well I'm sure there's a few on the bench that the coach could have put in if he knew better, or the player hasn't been properly coached. I've been a victim of bad coaching in my day. Yelling might work for one and not another. It never worked on me. Just calmly explaining to me what I did wrong worked on me. Yelling only pissed me off. Yelling gets other guys to eat raw metal and crap out a Lincoln Continental.
If you're asking us to tone down the negativity on the site, as for me, here's my behind to kiss. It's a message board. My message is not one of positivity in the face of a could have easily been avoided 27 game losing streak. As for the games, as noted above I ain't one to be booing them kids anyway. So no need to go there either.
Alls I want to see is Fobbs prove me wrong. 22 chances and counting...

It's posts like these that have caused me to stop taking Black college football seriously.......of course the horrible mismanagement of resources and athletic talent has certainly aided in my dispassion.

It's posts like these that have caused me to stop taking Black college football seriously.......of course the horrible mismanagement of resources and athletic talent has certainly aided in my dispassion. some of us are genuinely loyal to our alma mater, others are not. some alums are true aggies, some are not. some aggies have unconditional love for our alma mater, some do not. some of us are mature enough not to act like spoiled brats if we don't like the coach (and trust me, there's been several in the past that i didn't like), some are not. some of us realize it is "counterproductive" for alums to spread hate on any active aggie coach, some don't. some of us love and support all members of the aggie family (within reason), some do not. some of us realize alums can't hire or fire our coaches, but our admins can. some of us support our admins whether we like their decisions or not, some don't. some of us don't attend games for selfish reasons, some do. some of us feel its about us, others feel its about "me". some of us will continue to proudly support the team despite a 27 game losing streak, others will bail out. so i say to my fellow aggies who are willing to tear down our coaches, turn their backs on our team, and no longer attend the games; our love for you is unconditional too! but i wonder how they might feel if a&t would turn its back on them, invalidate or devalue their degree because it didn't like the spouse you chose, the lawyer you chose, or the employer you chose? validation of degrees are unconditional. so for those who fit that description, we'll leave the lights on for ya, come back whenever you please, you're always welcomed. while you're gone, we true aggies will hold down the fort until you see fit to come back, we're riding this bandwagon to the very end because we realize its not about us individuals, its about north carolina agricultural and technical state university. unconditionally!

You can't take the cat seriously Freeze. He's got another post on here where he thinks recruiting could suffer because the stadium ain't been painted yet.
But he has a point. I don't know what it is, but he has one.
