I drove through A&T's campus a few weeks ago as I was returning from the CIAA Tournament on my way to Virginia. Who is in charge of campus landscaping? Who in the world came up with the idea to plant trees so close together in front of the buildings facing Market Street and Benbow? A&T needs to hire someone who has an eye for landscape beauty.

I always felt it was strange how we bill ourselves as an agriculutral school, yet we have brown grass and not much natural beauty on campus. UNCG and Elon's campus looks like the garden of Eden compared to ours.
I do think that the East Market Street landscaping is coming together OK.

Well our friends from South of the border handle the lawns at UNCG, we have inmates doing ours...
We're doing something on the East Market Street beautification in the paper, it's looking good

Damn...don't certain types of grass change during the winter months, and don't thing look much better than before?

That's just it. The grass is not supposed to look brown in the spring and summer months.
Beautifying the campus landscape should be a senior project for agricultural students.

The campus use to look really good back when we had this Chinese guy, I think his name was Mr. Yum or something like that. This was back in the mid to late 80's and the early 90's. Overall the campus does not look that bad. There is always room for improvement. I know one thing, we have really good lighting at night.

If I'm the Chancellor of an agricultural school, the landscaping would be pristine ALL THE TIME, period. It's a disgrace! Let's see what Battle's take is on it. The problem is we don't understand how bad it looks until you've been to other campuses around the country. It's horrible!

In the early 90s the landscaping was hot garbage. Sinbad came to campus for homecoming in 1990 and the first joke out of his mouth was "I thought this was an agricultural school."
The agricultural department should be tasked with that stuff. Why waste a resource?

I'm not on campus that often, but everytime I have it looks 10 times better than it did in the early 90's. I remember many a day walking through standing water and mud puddles.

I drove by Towson U the other day and shed tears. It was gorgeous. I drove past Morgan the next day and shed tears because of the plight of the new millenium Negro College's agriculture.
We used to till the soil for free and do a better job than we do nowadays. How hard is it to mow and plant sod? Can you imagine the quality of the home grown weed coming out of A&T nowadays?!?
