x.com/bamastatesports/status/1775173136637469160?s=46Random, but how would y’all feel with a flag football club team for the women at A&T? The sport has grown tremendously across high school & college. The Charlotte area high schools support it a ton & they have a championship game in the Panthers stadium. Wake County got on board a year ago and all of the Raleigh area schools have been heavy in it competitively since. NCCU has a team & seem to pretty into it. It’s picked up crazy steam here recently

Poll the female students before suggesting this idea to the school or to any women students. Some years ago, the female students from A&T and Bennett would play a game of tag/flag football in Holland Hall Bowl.

Would this come out of the student affairs budget.? Last year our Qb Brickhandler was working with a group of flag Fb women. Don’t know if they ever played anyone .

A&T mens club Flag football team , Won numerous state and regional championships . "Coach Rob McNair, long-time coach for North Carolina A&T State University’s club team, says, “We always try to play our best, every time, no matter who we’re playing against. We always give it our all. We went to three regionals, and won all three to be here and get the best play possible" nirsa.net/nirsa/2020/01/23/nirsa-flag-football-championships-recap/

heck, i rather see women's flag football than women's golf. and its probably "cheaper" to fund too. would be really cool if they play on a smaller field rather than a 100 yard regulation field. my thinking is that the holland bowl would be a perfect site for women's flag football if a 100 yard field isn't required...

They play on 100 yards. Like NCCU plays on the practice field right beside the stadium which is 100, high schools play on the football field, etc. And for the HS championships, it was held in the Panthers stadium. And to the Holland Bowl thing, when I was living on campus a few years ago, touch & flag was extremely popular for the girls so it’d definitely pick up steam fast. They’d be out there in the early fall and late spring by the boatload and everybody would watch. But it’s definitely a bigger operation than being played as an organized club sport somewhere like the Holland Bowl. It’s a stadium/real field thing at this point at the schools that have club teams. Just like club basketball at A&T was played at Moore & JV basketball at UNC is played in the Dean Dome, as opposed to if they played on the outdoor courts beside Moore

That’s my bad, and for what it’s worth I’d be on board with the Bowl fully if it was 100 yards,, because like I said us as students used to be all along there watching it under the shaded trees a couple years ago. And because of how popular that got while not even being a school organized thing, a legit club event with jerseys & etc would go nuclear. Highly doubt they’d ever entertain it though, our school specifically just based off the slow speed of athletic innovation historically. Its definitely something that’d have more student attention than the vast majority of the non-revenue sports though

They have an A&T Girls flag football tournament to raise awareness/etc. for some woman's issue (can't remember the exact reason).
Our football players coach the teams.
My daughter's team won the ship last year!
