to make things fair and to end the conversation the state should just close HBCUs and merge with PWIs. How about just close PWIs and merge with HBCUs? At that point it would become a PWI lol. There are more white students in college than black... Would cost the states more money to build up HBCU infrastructure to support 25K students. Alot cheaper on the state for Carolina to absorb NCCU 6k students vs NCCU absorbing 25k students. Man, you have to think these things through... lol

It would negate all of your points by becoming an HBCU with 30,000+ students, two thirds Black.

A&T and UNCG is one example out of how many in the UNC system? We could also use ECSU and ECU, WSSU and UNC Charlotte, Fayetteville state and UNCP. Regardless, it makes more fiscal sense to close A&T since UNCG has the infrastructure to support 30K students. A&T doesn't have the infrastructure to support more than 14K. So please try again.. Correction, the institution would be about 58% black after factoring Asians and Hispanics... A&T could be the next Georgia State, would not bother me one bit The enrolled student population at Georgia State University, both undergraduate and graduate, is 38.8% Black or African American, 23.2% White, 13.7% Asian, 12% Hispanic or Latino, 5.17% Two or More Races, 0.092% American Indian or Alaska Native, and 0.0541% Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islanders.

We're getting off topic here...
I think I've convinced myself, provided the chancellor in question outdoes his predecessor. For example, if the white chancellor comes in and immediately demands the billions we're owed by the state (which I assume would be more than enough to cover any infrastructure improvements needed to support 30k students btw) then he's already worth his weight in gold.

Can you imagine somebody of a different skin tone being chancellor? What a disgusting thought? lol. I'm only commenting on here so I can follow the racists down the logic of "it's not racist, it's history. It's not hate, it's our culture. It's our heritage and legacy, we must protect it". Those are the same talking points all racist groups have. And each side thinks they have the unique argument because of history and heritage and culture, etc...Here's an idea: How about we promote the best person for the job? Maybe someone who has a deep understanding and appreciation for the history of A&T and from where we came to where we want to be. This "Caucasian people...this" and "Caucasian people...that" is so silly in 2024. Part of me hopes for a curveball and A&T announces a Hispanic or Asian chancellor. In the end don't we want the person who will honor our history and position A&T for the best success? We want our Aggie grads out in the world succeeding and representing the knowledge and leadership they gained from the institution. We want Aggie grads out in the world being good people and becoming good mentors to future generations of potential Aggies. Why racially limit an institution because of skin tone? It was never right to do in the past, and is never right to do now. We still going to have haters that the person isn't black enough, or is this or that. With everything going on we still have energy for racial haters, race hustlers, and race dividers? We better than that. With all of these cultural and popular celebrity "gatekeepers" dictating directions for groups of people, when is it ok to be a free thinking individual? Just remember this, as long as we all stay labeled and divided and against each other, we can never unite against the ones doing the dividing. A&T has a unique and beautiful history. We should be proud of that. It's special to us and we must continue to honor those had made the sacrifices for us in those times. Let's honor that legacy by showing how much we've moved past color to show that our institution can excel in all areas that all other institutions can excel in...regardless of what shade our Chancellor is. I think we can all rally around Aggie Pride. It's a big, and welcoming tent.

What 2039 is doing it making statements he doesn't believe in order to get people to think and engage in dialogue and discourse. It's obvious to me. Practically every hbcu started out with a white president or chancellor, so that is a part of hbcu history. That being typed, I simply wouldn't want a white chancellor unless he was an alum. I am willing to admit I am not basing this on any logical argument that stands up to scrutiny, and my feeling is completely unsupported by arguments about history, fairness, etc. If Black people had the ability to meet the textbook definition of racist, you could call me a racist on this particular issue, period. And I acknowledge the hypocrisy of feeling a minority should be allowed to be president of a pwi if qualified. I agree 1000% that our next chancellor whether black or white should be an alum. I think we advanced so much in the past 10 to 15 years under chancellor Martin is because of his love for the university and him being an alum. I agree. The next Chancellor should be alum, regardless of race.

It doesn't matter...public colleges are for an education. If state funding is used everyone should be eligible to hold the position. Private schools that receive no federal funding can discriminate however they like. That includes colleges such as Morehouse, Spelman, Howard, Harvard, Duke and MIT.

A Merger with UNCG would solve most of A&T’s problems, The State would give us our money, and more, R1 (boom), FBS in athletics(boom). Why compete against a government, who constantly practices white thinking when we can solve all our problems by becoming their vehicle. Why struggle as a HBCU with a White Chancellor? Why do we need HBCU’s it’s just an education.

I take this statement to mean you would not have a problem with us becoming UN CG East I want to first say to everyone in Aggieland and everyone reading this that you are loved. I'd be the first one to welcome you to join me for a tailgate or to watch a game together. It must be a hard and stressful way to live in fear of "the others" constantly. Other than fear, what reason is there to not be accepting of people different than you. I love that this thread started on MLK Day and we are here in 2024 actually debating what the right amount of melanin is for a college Chancellor. I think it's safe to say we ran out of real problems. Shackling ourselves to injustices of the past does not give us the right conduct injustices of our own. We are an educational institution with a beautiful history. Let's just have a Chancellor who can promote a beautiful future.

I will not look down upon any person of color living with fear in America. Where have you been since Obama retired? The Trump years should have all people in America seriously concerned. Some here dismiss the thought of a Wakanda as just a movie, just as I'm assuming you dismiss the Trump years as just a movie. I'll take the Wakanda movie it, like Obama gives our kids an image of I can, I am, positive role models to mimic, in a time were there are few positive black male role models, public or at home. x.com/Patriots/status/1747673488712671456?s=20
