It was announced before the game yesterday that Spencer Gwynn passed away.
Before the live streaming of games, he was how us out of towners kept up with the team every week. He had a great run and was one of the pillars of Aggie Athletics.

Rest in peace.
My whole Aggie existence Spencer, Mel, and Billy were how I kept up with football when I couldn’t make a game. I remember Spencer’s professional with admiration.

I'm sorry to hear about Spencer. I remember so many years of listening to him, Mel and Billy broadcast Aggie football. RIP, Spencer, and my prayers are with your family...

I work as a starter for a local golf course, and met Spencer as he was part of a group of seniors that golf there. I introduced myself, about three years ago, and from the first day I met him he talked to me like we always knew each other. I’m sure he didn’t remember my name, but he recognized me and we talked about A&T. He was a class act, down to earth, very friendly, and loved talking about the Aggies.
Plus even at his age, if you were to shake hands with him, you’d quickly realize that he could probably crush your hand with his grip.
Saying prayers for his family and friends… He will be missed…

One of my favorite GHOE experiences was being paired with Spencer Gwynn at the 1995 GHOE Golf Tournament. What a joy to play with and education on Aggie Football. Rest in peace my friend. AGGIE born AGGIE bred when I die I will be a AGGIE dead .
