Even though they are undersized and largely inexperienced the defense is making progress. Coaches are figuring out how to overcome liabilities with creativity. Kudos to them!

We allow way too many sustained offensive drives. Not only does defense have to get off the field, you can also clearly see our offense needs to stay on the field.

Personally, i believe the issue is the offense. Offense cant stay on the field

It is difficult to conclude much from these stats alone other than our defense was on the field longer than our offense. Even in the Norfolk game that we won because a few times when we did score they were for big plays. When we get those quick kick return TDs, guess what? Our defense is placed back on the field even though we made a positive play. This is a good thing even though the defense play counts goes up.

The offense is giving us pretty much what the OC's resume said he would give us.
Can you imagine what the defense would look like with a couple of run-stuffing DTs (the kind we never get) in there?

To me, this is a thread that SPLITS the team. I stand by everything I have said before.....IF the coaching staff remains the EXACT SAME this time next year......AND.......we are getting the exact same results
EVERYBODY NEEDS TO GO!
If we are getting the exact same results, then that tells us that Coach Brown was not smart enough to make changes to his staff or is not good enough on the recruiting trail to make us better.
People can post whatever stats they want. I see a bad football team. If we are still THIS BAD NEXT YEAR, Brown needs to go. He has been around the CAA long enough to be doing this poorly offensively. He knows the coaches in this league (and beyond). He does not get a pass for being 122nd offensively because he's a defensive coach. He has to know football COLLECTIVELY. It's clear in year one that he does not. I'm hoping for improvement in year 2; but I'm not waiting 3/4/5 years for him to show signs of turning things around while he woos everybody over with his ability to use a subject and predicate well in his weekly press conferences. TALK IS CHEAP!!! I'll take a coach that can split verbs who knows how to get our offense in the top 50 of the FCS any day of the week over Coach Nat King Cole and our "unforgettable" offense. He can croon all he wants; he ain't getting things better....
If things remain THIS BAD in October 2024 - he's gotta go.

I doubt seriously the offensive staff remains the same. I'm not even worried about that.
The defensive staff is punching above its weight class at this pernt.

If we get a new offensive staff, and we remain 122nd.....everyone needs to go. New doesn't mean better; right now, I question if Coach Brown (and the people he hires) know anything about offense. There is no track record on how Coach Brown operates.....as a head coach. We can all hope for the best.....but as of October 23, 2023, we HAVE NO IDEA as to whether Coach Brown knows what it takes to turn this around. I'm just not willing to wait until 2025 or 2026 to find out. If we're 122nd next year with a new staff and new players and we're losing in the same manner......I DON'T WANT HIM AS OUR HEAD COACH!!

Arkansas fires offensive coordinator Dan Enos after home loss
Heather Dinich, ESPN Senior Writer Oct 22, 2023, 03:43 PM ETArkansas fired offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Dan Enos effective immediately, the school announced Sunday. Arkansas, now 2-6 and winless in the SEC following Saturday's 7-3 home loss to Mississippi State, has lost six straight games under coach Sam Pittman. Wide receivers coach and former Ohio State quarterback Kenny Guiton will take over playcalling duties for the Razorbacks for the remainder of the season. Enos, who was hired in January, led a spiraling offense that averaged 2.9 yards per play Saturday -- its worst performance since No. 23, 2018, when the Razorbacks averaged 2.92 yards per play in a 38-0 loss to Missouri. Arkansas is ranked 118th in the FBS in yards per game and 114th in rushing offense. This was Enos' second stint at Arkansas, as he was also the program's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2015 to 2017. Arkansas is in the midst of its longest losing streak since 2019, when it lost nine straight and finished 2-10 and winless in the SEC. Coach Chad Morris was fired before the season was over. "We got a lot of decisions to make," Pittman said after Saturday's loss. "We owe it to our team. We owe it to our fans. So we'll figure that part of it out. My biggest thing, to be honest with you, is that the defense has continued to improve. My biggest concern is with the kids and the entire team. Time and time again we ask them, 'If you'll just hold them or shut them out, we'll win.' "Now, we just weren't able to do it. Defense is improving. Offense, we got enough talent on offense we ought to be playing better than what we are, and that's on me, I got to figure that out." This is an example of a coaching staff and athletic department that respects the intellect of its fanbase. They know there is no justification with moving forward with something that obviously is not working.

We ain’t Arkansas. Back when I was at T Arkansas fired their coach after he lost the first game of his third season as head coach. He lost to the same Citadel team that whupped our a$$ in the first round of the I-AA playoffs that year. Meanwhile we hired a guy that we should’ve known better than to hire and let him lose like 27 games in a row before we did a thing. Arkansas will drop your a$$, we’ll keep your a$$.
Judging from what was said at the presser either Brown is an incredible poker player or being last in the nation isn’t the greatest issue.
