Their 2023 roster has 9 Florida kids on it, to A&T’s 3. Problem with the transfer discussions amongst a specific side of college sports fans is the complete disregard that there are 2 sides of portal entries. Player entering themselves, and coaches utilizing it make room for others they’re recruiting. I have literally seen it more from the coaches than players themselves directly as a manager in the portal era. If you don’t have a relationship with the player themselves, I promise the possibilities are ENDLESS. Lastly, it’s literally almost no one I could blame for entering the portal as a grad transfer that got to A&T in 2019. Literally almost couldn’t have went through more disarray within the program in that timeframe. 3 conferences, multiple different coaching staffs, winning & then losing at an insane degree. Said player moves on as a grad transfer and gets to hopefully star at another level, it’s a non-issue. This exact platform discusses wanting a Power 5 transfer all the time (which is honestly dropping down 2 levels to play FCS ball to his one) to play for a team that won one game & wouldn’t bat an eye once they see the commitment announcement from a player dropping down that far to play for their alma mater. Even a Group of 5 transfer Perhaps I missed it but I haven't seen a heavy focus in this forum on signing P5 transfers? When it comes to the interior defensive lineman position most of us have advocated for an experienced transfer player given our problem with stopping the run. I think we are all open to P5, G5, D2 NAIA or JUCO. Plenty of em still in the portal. And this isn't all about NIL. SWAC schools and nccu have managed to sign DT transfers. I'm starting to think this is intentional by Coach Brown with his preference being high school recruits for that position. He must have more time than we think he's got to get this program back on track.

His contract says he has a lot of time. That time shrinks if he goes 2 or 3 wins this season.

If I could not get a plug and play with extensive on field experience in the portal , and had to settle for a bench warmer with no significant playing time. You're better off focusing on in coming High School Talent. But don't get it twisted there are players out there that just were not given a opportunity and A&T has had great success with some of them. But we will see personally I think that we are going to do a lot better this season and it takes time to build a program from basically scratch at your skilled positions and on your defensive line. Some of you may not like the from scratch comment. But based on last year that was basically what brown had to do because Washington basically left him with a almost empty cupboard on the field and with academic problems in the classroom. So for me that was building from scratch.

His contract says he has a lot of time. That time shrinks if he goes 2 or 3 wins this season. We should have at least four wins. Winston Salem State North Carolina Central South Carolina State Hampton Maybe two more. Elon Campbell

Elon Campbell We didn't beat 4 of the 6 schools that you listed last year. We have depth at our QB position and size at the DL spot but not more experience. Who are we throwing the ball too and is our OL going to hold up?

Thé New Chancellor will have more pressing issues than to worry about football. academic funding and building relationships with the UNC system leadership is more important. Additionally, they need to learn the school and how it operates

Specifically, experience at the DT position it goes without saying the only person we're bringing back is Christopher Allen Jr. The other true DT's are true freshman.

There's more returning experience at DT than just Allen. Kelvin Broadhurst(R-So.), Chris Abraham (R-So.), and Javon Armstrong-Grady (R-Jr.) all played extensive minutes last season. Yes they were young, but their biggest problem all season long was the lack of size as compared to the CAA 0-lines they faced.

We DO have more experience at the DL position...ALL of last year. The only team you might argue that we don't have more experience against is Campbell (last game of the season), but even with that we got experience against them that we didn't have before. And if you're also saying we don't have more experience at QB, that's not true either. Kevin White has more game experience (6 games started and action in 7) than ALL 4 of our QBs had together at the start of last season (Yeager - 3 starts & Hooker 1 start, Yeager, Hooker & Brick also had some game action without starting). And Fomby has at least 12 games started.
