Slow news day besides the normal #45 mess so wanted to ask our fans...
Who would think would be the most impactful newcomer in 2023?
I vote for....
1. BJ Turner - LB 2. Christopher Allen - DL 3. Blizzard - RB 4. Pernell - DE

i like blizzard but i think he will have similar impact that tuten had as a true freshman. i think he will show "flashes" of brilliance this season but next year i expect him to duplicate if not surpass tuten's sophomore year production.
i think blizzard is "special". if he has the kind of "work ethic" that i hope he has, he will help us to forget about tuten next season...

You’re right but don’t think he played last year… He got a few snaps. Still a returner, not new. And I think I see him in a boot in the video they put out today. Damn.

That said, I think he needs all the reps he can get as a RFr with little playing time under his belt. We'll see what happens.

Allen is the only DT that LOOKS like a DT 6-4 285 on the roster

Your prototypical DT is like 6”1 - 6”2 and 285 - 300. You want your interior def lineman to be able to get under a taller offensive lineman’s shoulder pads.
As example probably 2 greatest interior lineman Warren Sapp and Jerry Ball were just 6 feet tall and our best lineman the freshman from last year Caleb ——— (last name) is 6 feet 300
6”4 250-260 is great size for a defensive end

There's going to be a lot of contributions from the younger guys on this year's squad. The reason why? 5 Graduates, 6 seniors, 20 juniors, 27 sophomores, and 40 freshmen. Those roster numbers don't lie.

Yes, in the 3-4 it is better to have shorter guys (6'1 - 6'2, 290+). In the 4-3, though shorter guys can play DT, it's better to have taller guys. I would say 6'3 to 6'5 and 275+. For DEs, I would want 6'3+ & 240+ at the FCS level. And I wouldn't want any "fudging" of the numbers...actual clothesless heights & weights.

I prefer to have interior linemen tall enough to bat down a few passes. 6'2 with long wing span would be ideal.
