Unless I heard incorrectly, coach Brown mentioned Brickhandler and Kevin White as the QB frontrunners today. Did anyone else hear that or am I tripping?

So, if most coaches use the same "its about us/what we do", than why be so concerned about announcing your starting QB/RB/WR. The other coach is more concerned about "what we do" not so much the opponent. Because "if we do what we're supposed to at a high level and execute well be fine."
So which is it, is it about us or our opponent?

They said KJ White was the truth...so obviously, there was some TRUTH to that statement. This QB battle just got very interesting...

Is it more surprising that Charlie Dixon is alphabetically 3rd?

1) Wesley Grave starting over Kenji is halfway shocking, not really. The 2)Yeager part is definitely shocking. 3) Also the first year in quite some time that the second & third spots on the roster home state lists weren’t GA & SC exclusively. They recruited the Tidewater region heavily this year. 4) Very surprising that Nick Wilds Lawing is that high on the chart @ a position he transitioned to after getting to school. Right below a former Power 5 guy. That being said, WR depth in general is worrisome for inexperienced QBs. With Graves & Kenji & our OL id assume it’s gonna be a lot of ground and pound 5) Farside corner depth scares me a lot 6) No Shawn Chappell on the roster. Is that over?

man, i'm surprised you even ask that question. i mean, what college coach would not want a detailed "scouting report" on the opponent's best players? if i know what your "weaknesses" are, i could better prevent you from "executing". the more you know about your opposing players "individually", the better you may exploit their "strengths and weaknesses"... Your missing the point . You can not get information about QB'S that you don’t have (outside of high school) and those issues and tendencies change this level because of the speed of the game and level of talent at this level. We don't have one QB with significant playing experience or backup experience at this level, no tape to break down, only what is in their bio so there is nothing to breakdown. Now guys like Carter or even Fowler would have had tape giving other coaches something to analyze and critique. In this case there is nothing. It is always the coaches preference to name his starters in our case with the in Camp competition I can see holding off on naming the starter. But it really doesn't matter one way or the other the competition is going to prepare for whoever our quarterback is. saab, obviously you must consider that the prospects you're scouting have improved since their high school days. but you still can determine an awful lot from high school film, especially if its only "1 year old". for example, does the qb go thru his progressions in the pocket? does the qb get "rattled" when under pressure? how does he respond to getting "hit" while in pocket? how does he handle "contact"? does he shy away from contact or not? can he run? how well can he run? can he "accurately" throw short, intermediate, and long passes? how does he handle "blitzes"? does he have "happy feet"? i mean, i could go on and on. many of these personal characteristics do not "change" over the course of just 1 year. but you must be prepared in the event that the prospect has improved areas of weakness since he last played. i mean, if i'm an opposing head coach, i wanna know as much as possible about your qb, and not just his skills but also his "mental makeup". does he get "rattled", for example. is he soft? is he tough? can he take a hit? how well does he know his playbook? you can learn "a lot" from watching film on someone. and if you're "smart", you will use the information that you've gained to exploit his "weaknesses"...

KJ White's tape didn't lie, I just never thought it would translate to the college game that quickly. That's a great surprise. But what happened to Jamison Warren? He's nowhere to found in the 2-deep and looks like he won't travel.

So which is it, is it about us or our opponent? when a coach says "its about what we do", that " includes" your team's "preparation" to compete against the dude on the other side of the line of scrimmage that they must compete against. so are saying college coaches don't need "scouting reports" of their opponents? if the opposing defensive end likes to use the "swim move" on pass plays, wouldn't it be to your advantage that your offensive tackle be ready for that? so your scouting reports of individual opposing players plays a major role as to " how we execute" on game day. there's a "mental" side of playing football, its not all just "physical" play without using your "brain"...

He's nowhere to found in the 2-deep and looks like he won't travel. Warren may not be quite ready to go yet. They had him in a red jersey for much of camp, so they may just be opting to hold him until Central or Elon.

I think Shawn Chappell's been gone for a couple years now. I don't ever remember him hitting a roster. And I think Damond Harmon may be a solution for that farside corner depth. He just got cleared less than 2 weeks ago, so they may be waiting a couple weeks until he has more of a grasp of the defensive scheme.
