I mean somebody who shocked you with just how much they developed their game from the first time they arrived on campus to the end of their career at A&T.

It's probably not the best example, but I thought James Porter and Thomas Coleman improved during their tenure here.

You beat me too it, it took all 3 years for him to flourish but he turned into DPOY (I beleive) and an all MEAC selection. May 2nd would be JJ Miller he did drop 30 something at Cameron his senior which was an opponents record at the time.

Looking at my answers and some others response is actually proving BTs point because Miller was over 20 years ago and Coleman over a decade ago. As the artist who gave the BGMM "velvet rope" would say... "what have you done for me lately"

Hell name a A&T men's Head Basketball Coach not named Corbett or Irving that focused on developing/development of there players . Then we can talk about what player/players have developed.

Bornthrilla, you made the question too difficult by adding the word "shock". I believe this list would be small for most colleges using your criteria. Your star players can't be included in this list because they arrived on campus with high expectations. Players that you felt were good, but had to wait for their opportunity (due to graduation of starters, injuries, etc.) to show their talent does not fall into the shock category. I feel that Webster Filmore gradually improved and developed as a walk-on playwr throughout his college career with the exception of last year, but by no means was he a "shock". Maybe I misunderstood your question or the point you are trying to make.

Coaches Warren Reynolds and Gene Littles. Yeah, we're all just validating thrillas point. Miller as a player was over 20 years ago, but jeez, Reynolds and Little, we're getting into the half century range. Clear indictment on the status of our MBB program in the modern era. We'll this can be applied to HBCU athletics in general. While many would argue integration had a lot to do with that, it sort of changed the end game of HBCU athletics. Yes, many of the young men brought in have aspirations of playing professionally and there are many more opportunities to do so today than in the past but we're clearly more geared towards graduating our student athletes into (like the commercial says) careers outside of sports. I even believe for a lot of them playing collegiate us a vehicle solely for free education, and that's awesome.

Coaches Cal Irvin and Don Corbett names were used in the question as examples. I simply answered the question by inserting Coaches Littles and Reynolds who won multiple Championships at A&T.
