Still think we can put our foot on the city’s neck too, to get more resources to make sure that area is safe.
New management every year-says alot about that property and the risk associated with it.

I saw something that suggested the university buy the cottages, not sure what i think about that. But i do not think the university puts enough pressure on the owners of that property to make sure it is secure. Why hasn’t the media tracked down the owners? I would also like to see the other crimes that happen on that property. Does anyone know who owns it? Martin has already said if they were to buy it , they will knock it down. Doesn't meet housing standards

Those apartments are old as hell. They were a good deal back in the 60's at $90 a month. The crime rate back then in this area was damn near 0%.
These apartments are old World War II Army barracks to my understanding. In the 60's a college student was considered lucky and held with high esteem if they were lucky enough to get an apartment there.
Over time different owners, managers and clientele changed the environment of the apartments. The safety for the city tenants and students has declined tremendously over the years.
There have been several shootings and murders of students over the last several years in the "cottage".
I know there is a housing crisis at A&T but for safety reasons I would steer students to other areas of the city for housing.
Better still, build that damn 5 Story Dorm they have been talking about for the last 20 years.

The Town hall said that the new Suite style Dorm by Harrison Aud has been approvedand should be open in 2024. On thing the Chencellor said. In essence do to our buying surrounding apartments out fitting them, letting Students use housing money, providing shuttles ect efforts, this has made students desire the suite type set-up.
Thinking back to us with one bathroom per floor and Showers is Scott, It made one Want to get off the yard, to have company, privacy or even work in the ciry when school is on break. One used to just Get an Apartment and leave the yard.
============= As for the Tragic Events. The White guy got apprehended, therefore an Aggie Alert was not issued (no shelter in place action was needed). They admitted that they should have exposed him, of course (after the police rifled thru his house and stuff- to keep someone form destroying evidence/manifestos ect). The Guy had a chicken foot along with everything else. They said that electronically he cant come back on the yard, idk if he has an ankle bracelet... i dont see how without a conviction, but hey, idk how things are done nowadays.
Second, reports of someone shooting ect was responded to (and it should have been an alert, imo), the video with the police sweeping a dorm was posted.
And lastly, sadly the Young Sister got killed in those apartments. Something like that, was said at the beginning of the Alumni Town hall.
Note. one thing that the Chief of Police said is that The yard has License plate readers posted around the yard. And now Drone Technology for special events. (I remember the Police Tower by the Cafe from a few years back.) A&T is on the move.

It probably will be a good idea for folks to find the taped copy of the Town Hall and review it, so that misinformation will not be the norm from the meeting. That was addressed by the Chancellor at the beginning of the meeting. A&T does not own the Forest Grove apartments. Students must learn that every party is not for them and that advertising parties on social media is dangerous. They need to realize that East Greensboro as well as most of the city is dangerous.

My Baaaad. However, what is the deal on the 5 story dorm? Will break ground this summer. Forest Grove apartments were not Army Barracks. The last building from the ORD (Operational Ready Date WWII) was a mess hall and used by Lutheran College as their dining hall.

Thanks for the education. I do remember that white ORD Barrack building up by Lutheran Gym.
Glad to hear about the ground breaking.
