Trying to figure out why we haven't been able to get him more involved in the offense thus far this season.
Not sure if it's a preference thing with Carter on his reads ... or if the play design is not focusing on him, but Leslie should be getting at least 10 targets each game -- especially if Bell is being double teamed on the other side.

Trying to figure out why we haven't been able to get him more involved in the offense thus far this season.. the answer is pretty "obvious" to me. unlike this time last year, "bell is healthy". last year this time he wasn't. so now ya'll want leslie to get more targets than bell even though bell is 100% healthy? man, ya'll need to stop "whining". we're friggin' 3-1 for crying out loud. and that's after replacing 7 starters on both sides of the ball. do ya'll know what any team in the meac not named bcu or famu would do to be 3-1 right now? wow, just wow...

We have to do a better job of spreading the ball around. Does know good to throw to Bell if he's doubled while healthy and Leslie is singled and wide open.

I am waiting for Leslie to get off. The more diversity in the offense, the harder we are to defend.

Leslie has 8 catches after 3 games played. 2.66/game
Last season Leslie had 33 catches over the last 7 games(including the CB). That's 4.7/game last season while playing WITH Bell AND Malik Wilson.. If you add ECU, Del State(the early games and the game Bell missed) he is probably over 5 catches per game. Which means his targets were around 7 more than likely.
That is facts and that is all. Peace.
i'm not going to say he "needs" more targets, but only that he hasn't been targeted as much so far.

The coaches and players are aware of his numbers. That was discussed by Bell at the luncheon. There are 3 receivers on the team that should get at least 5-6 or more catches per game (Bell, Banks and Leslie). The tight end at least 3 should be thrown his way. Leslie had deep balls thrown to him against DSU, but they were uncatchable. The team needs to work on a variety of routes, and spread the ball around a bit more to keep players happy and into the game. My non-expert opinion.

Leslie is a top notch receiver who needs to be targeted more. He proved that last year with spectacular catches.
Just saying.

Is the issue catches or targets? How does the number catches translate to a comparison of targets?

Is the issue catches or targets? How does the number catches translate to a comparison of targets? there is no official NCAA stat(at least at the FCS level) for targets. Catches is all we have to go by. So it not an exact science. Leslie normally makes big plays and normally doesnt drop balls, so his catches are normally very close to his targets.
