Highlights include: - Brand New Convocation Center on Campus for Basketball
- Either repurpose or remove Moore and Corbett
- Men's and women soccer program to be created along with a dedicated soccer stadium behind Truist Stadium
- Doubling the size of the Bryan Fitness Center and completed the stadium addition behind the horseshow for Coaches offices and suites

linkLosing Moore would hurt me for historical reasons. All of these are great ideas though. Closing the horseshoe would also solidify no new stadium for track and/or football right?

3 things stood out to me. 1) Laurel street would be going away completely to make room for soccer field and other things. Basically be turned into a non-driveable part of campus. Mitchell Drive would go all the way through to Dudely St or also be closed off for through traffic. Thats genius. Closing both off for regulars traffic wouldn't hurt. They barely let you drive down there anyway during events.
2) I see the javelin throw outside the stadium in the corner is being recognized now. The shot puts are moved to outside the stadium to allow for field house expansion. Does that mean the javeline excuse is going away to make way for turf? Lets hope
3) The back tailgate is going to have to be slightly smaller due to the those things being moved outside
This is big vision stuff right here. Thats a whole lot of work, but I like the plan. Please address the chain link fence while you at it though, LOL.

How long has the fence around the tennis courts been brick columns with the black iron fencing in between? I've never noticed it before. That's all they need to do around the stadium.

That plan looks as if it proposes building the new arena as an attachment to basketball side of Corbett, demolishing the swimming pool side and Moore Gym to do it.

i like the "plans", but saw nothing about "funding". i mean, how much is all of this gonna cost and "who" is gonna pay for it? i mean, a new convocation center has been on our books for over a decade, but no signs of breaking ground.
the new facility on the sullivan street side of aggie stadium kicked off a fundraising campaign more than half a decade ago and was supposed to have broken ground in "2020". we're still "waiting".
so honestly i luv the plans, but right now that's all it is until there is "funding" available to break ground. so i'm not holding my breath to see these improvements anytime in the near future. to me, the phrase "long term" in this presentation means "never"...

On a separate note...I just got back from visiting Grambling's campus for the first time last week and while their campus has massive needs as far as infrastructure is concerned, both their stadium AND their on-campus event/basketball center are absolutely stunning.

I have to assume we’ll ask these questions during the meeting this week.

Becoming conference champions, even in a watered down Big South, would go a long way towards garnering continuing sponsorships as seed money for an athletics capital campaign. Adding classroom space to the fieldhouse and the events center could allow for bond funding also.

This reminds me of that master plan FAMU release years ago: Until there is some funding associated with these list items, I am not getting excited.

That’s fair, but the Chancellor has already said that it will be a mix of debt services and fundraising. The fact that the university looks completely different than it did 20 years ago and we just raised over $180 million should give you some assurances.

I think this presentation will be strictly dedicated to options and possibilities to be determined in full detail at a later date after a decision has been made

Got to get the City to see how successful programs with the appropriate infrastructure at NCAT will benefit Guiliford County. .....like someone implied "show me the money"
