I hate to sound arrogant but, NCCU was no competition at all. They used to be competitive but, the new band director, no knock against him because, he is good. But, their problem is, he cannot arrange and write music to his band's strengths. In Central's case, that would have to be lower brass. I listened to the 5th quarter on the field and Central were butchering the music with their trumpets. They simply don't have enough. So, why do you play 3 song medley of Beyoncé...? Thus, it didn't go over well at all.

⬆️ BGMM location definitely improves the student/fan experience! It would be better if they were in the endzone seats with students on both sides and everyone else able to see and hear them.

I know all of Blue Death Valley was getting excited to take on our first Big South Conference Band Battle but unfortunately Robert Morris' Marching Band only plays for home games and local community and high school festivals. But if they ever do venture out of Pittsburg, here's what you have to look forward to...
"The Robert Morris University Marching Show Band has established itself as one of the most exciting and unique college marching bands in the Mid-Atlantic states. From their informal apparel (no uniforms) to the high-energy performance and driving sound, the RMU Marching Show Band has a reputation for presenting an incredibly entertaining show. The members of the RMU Marching Show Band (all 50 of them) love what they do and they spread enthusiasm everywhere they perform! The RMU Marching Show Band is known for their unique performance style. Instead of the typical Corps style of marching found at many high schools, our band dances during each of its halftime tunes which provides an exciting performance every single time." (And they say all HBCU bands can do is dance)
So it looks like the BGMM will have to wait until Kennesaw State or Hampton!

My understanding is the BGMM will NOT be in attendance for the Kennesaw State or Hampton game. Hampton is requiring 100% vaccination in their stadium and BGMM is not. Not sure why they aren't going to Kennesaw State.

I don't think they (Hampton the School) can trump the Big South's policy on Covid-19 for the actual game. But, they can control who comes to see the teams play and the band isn't fully vaccinated they cannot attend the game in Hampton. Now, I don't know the story on Kennesaw State but, I was told they will not be in attendance there either.

I spoke to Earl Hilton about this today Thanks for the email. We think it is a good idea too. The band like to play across from the visiting band, which is why we have not done it yet….we may make that move later in the season. Thanks for the suggestion, and thanks for supporting A&T Athletics.
