NCAT's Roberts Named STATS FCS National Freshman of the Week Football // 10/28/2019 North Carolina A&T State linebacker Jacob Roberts, who earlier in the day was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week, picked up another honor on Monday, when he was named STATS FCS National Freshman Player of the Week.Roberts made his second career start on Saturday against Howard, showing out to the tune of 15 tackles, including 10 solos, tying the FCS season high with six tackles for losses of 19 yards, including three sacks. Head coach Sam Washington called him a "one-man wrecking crew" after Roberts helped the Aggies blow out the Bison 64-6. Earlier in the day, the STATS FCS Top 25 poll was released, with the Aggies (5-2, 3-1 MEAC) moving up to No. 16. North Carolina A&T State is also ranked No. 16 in the latest Coaches Poll. Florida A&M moved up to No. 17 in both polls after its 24-12 win this past Saturday at Morgan State. Roberts remind me of The late Herbert Dixon. I think he started as a true Freshman as well.

Actually Dixon was bigger. He was like 6'1" and 215 pounds. Dixon was probably faster too.
But he wasn't making no 15 dang tackles in one game.

Bro, your memory is terrible.
Dixon was barely 5'10 on a good day.

I dont know if it was our man Tyler Ball or Kia (last name escapes me) who was in the SID office at the time, but you can probably credit one of them for the 6'1 height listing.
Aint no way in hell he was that tall in real life. We probably had a rule back then where all linebackers had to be listed over six foot just to create the illusion that we had a towering front seven.

Um, ok.
But honestly the talk about 2-shot is really depressing me and it's taking away from the shine that should be going to Roberts.
