If the Panthers win with Allen today, will the team move Newton?

I'm not saying Allen is the answer ,but he has shown that we can win without QB1 and all of his antics . Overall the whole team has played better without Cam , the new owner is about winning so I wouldn't be shocked if they moved him .

I live in the Charlotte market, have owned season ticket for 25 years and follow the Panthers on local radio and social media and I'm amazed by the silence about Cam Newton. Nobody is even mentioning his name. And even if the Panthers stumble and lose some games, it appears the local fans have moved on.
Honestly, Cam's "antics " on and off the field has turned the "average" Panthers fan off. Charlotte is a tightazz conservative market and they don't embrace "different." Here's an interesting fact...Cam has no commercial endorsements. No business local or national wants him to pitch their products. That tells you how isolated he has become. Now he doesn't need endorsements money to survive but it shows how little marketing value he now has in this market.

Yeah... things started going downhill on the endorsement side for Cam when he lost Dannon in October 2017. He still has endorsements, but he's not a major endorser now, which is a big difference. The big thing... in the first 2 games, I saw a player in Cam who no longer had that child-like passion for football I had seen in his first 8 seasons. I think the injuries and the grind of the NFL have taken their toll. That's important because Andrew Luck just shocked the NFL world and retired before Cam at age 29. Cam's last year of his contract in 2020 isn't guaranteed. So this is basically Cam's contract year. If Cam doesn't get the starting job back and play like he did the first 8 games of 2018... I'm predicting Cam retires prior to the 2020 season.

Those conservative fans had no problem embracing Steve Smith, and he was getting in real fist fights with his own teammates, one even led to medical attention being needed and the player being carted off. I have my criticisms of Cam, but lets be real about it, there's a "portion" of the fanbase who doesn't like him/wanted him gone from day one because hes a black QB. Even during the super bowl year, there were fans who wanted Derek Anderson in there. No team had won the nfc south in back to back years, he lead teams that won it three times in a row and they still didn't embraced him. They even went as far as writing a letter to the editor in Charlotte because he had kids out of wedlock.

I’m listening to KSPN (ESPN RADIO) Los Angeles right now, and the question that they threw out is, “What does Cam do that is better than what Allen’s doing?” and no one could come up with a single thing.
Keyshawn Johnson is doing his best to defend Cam, but he’s having a hard time doing it.

Keyshawn Johnson is doing his best to defend Cam, but he’s having a hard time doing it. if the point was no need to rush him back until 100% healthy, I agree. When healthy, he's the better runner, and they've said he's not coming back until 100% healthy. The threat to run is what has made him dangerous and tough on defenses. He was #3 last year in converting 3rd/4th &1 when rushing. We saw in the bucs game what happened when they needed 1 yard for a TD and the win and he wasn't an option. CMC is balling right now, but can you count on him to continue to carry the workload they are putting on him for another 10 games is the question. The passing ability gap between Allen and Cam isn't large enough to make up for Cam's run threat imo. Niners and the Packers coming up, situation will work itself out imo.

Here's how I see it... skills will keep you around for a while and "being liked" will give you a little more time but after that, you're gone. Cam isn't liked by a lot of tightazz fans in this market so when his skills are gone...he's gone. By the way, you do know Steve Smith was traded away for a bag of magic beans. I think he was creating drama for Cam and others on the team and he had to go. As far Cam, these Charlotte rednecks only "tolerated" Cam as long as he was Superman and winning games. The minute he got injured and he started losing games, they were ready to kick him to the curb. Personally I could care less if he stays or goes but I'm betting that there are lots of folks in the Charlotte market that are ready to see him go. From a pure "football" perspective, Cam may give the Panthers a better chance to return to the playoff. But I think the Charlotte fans have found their great white hope and they are ready to move on from Cam.

Somebody likes Cam an awful lot!!! I'm actually in the middle on him. I think he misses high a lot on open receivers, which has cost us some games, but he's also carried us to a lot of wins with little talent around him at the time. I just think a lot of people are letting their dislike for him convince them that Kyle Allen is going to take this team on a deep playoff run.

I don't think most of the "average" Panthers fans see Allen as a better way to get to the playoff as much as they see him as a way to move away from Cam.

Proud athletes, no matter how dinged up they are, don't want to give up the spotlight.

I think Cam on the Bears with that defense could make run, but I don't think they would give up on Trubisky for what would probably be two seasons at max from Cam.
