This is a thread that would probably be better to discuss in the offseason.
But to answer your question, I would like to see what Leslie ran in a timed 40 before I can make a decision.

I am going to put Pettiford on the list after seeing him forty years down the field making a block on Martin's run Plus Wilder Let see what happens because we have a # of players on the radar

I would like to see what Leslie ran in a timed 40 before I can make a decision. I would like to see Bell's 40 time. If he's 4.6 or below, he's in. But his problem is Martin. Bell has to put POY type numbers and at least one Sportscenter type, off the charts, game performance to compensate for the Duke film. He's also dependent on Carter. Bell will go to someone's camp but whether he's drafted depends on the factors I mentioned. As always, there will be a ton of receivers in the draft. All of that is moot unless the team wins and gets Celebration Bowl tape. Team success increases the eyeballs and the interest.

Drafted vs Free agent is much different. To be drafted you need a lot of hype behind you coming from the MEAC. You also need a few "eye popping" games. Cohen balled out on UNC and Kent State, and the Celebration bowl. Parker still never gave up a sack against FBS comp. Johnson had those strip sacks in some big games and was still a force vs FBS opponents! not to mention, straight dominating the MEAC.
For the current guys. Mac has some big time plays against FBS comp already. If he comes back 100% then I think he will get drafted. Bell has some ECU highlights, but missed an opportunity vs Duke. He needs to ball out and become the unstoppable force 100% of the time for the rest of the season. The only one missing that eye popping game s Leslie. Even having the good game against ECU he will need more his junior and senior year. If Martin continues those numbers and balls out every time we play someone ranked and FBS then, yes. Someone will give him a shot.
It will be tough to showcase Martin and Leslie during the same season as seniors. The offense will have to be on fire! Not to mention we will have a new QB for sure next season.
And lastly. Don't sleep on Wilder. That pick is the big time stuff he needs to keep doing and he flies around the football like a true Dawg!

The only one missing that eye popping game is Leslie. Bro, did you see the two one-handed touchdown catches he made against ECU? You dont consider those eye-popping?

i think wilder could probably play safety in the nfl, too small to play linebacker...

i think wilder could probably play safety in the nfl, too small to play linebacker... I think that's partly the reason why the coaching staff has moved him to free safety at times this year - to showcase that skill set to NFL scouts.

Yes, they were great, but a jump ball(two hands by the way) and a one handed corner fade from the 10 yard line wont get you drafted to the NFL. I just think he needs way more to actually get drafted. As someone else stated in another thread. There are some check boxes that normally have to be checked in order to get drafted out of the MEAC. I love Leslie but all those boxes aint checked YET. 1) Best player on your side of the ball on your own team 2) 1st team all conference 3) Nationally ranked at your position, meaning you're having All American mentions 4) Offensive/defensive conference Player of the year. At least be in the convo 5) Big time non-conference games your last 2 years in school 6) Consistent domination of MEAC opponents. A one game slip is allowed or given a pass I think, but you have to consistently dominate our weak conference every game. 7) Be on some "watch list" for something. Like the Walter Payton award for example. Again, not a knock on Leslie. Great talent, but how many of those does he check off right now?

A receiver has to be consistent and show Proficiency in his route running . Bell and Leslie have yet to show any diversity in their routes ; which is not the fault of the players but the OC . To be even considered for the NFL making circus catches is not enough . You have the have and show that you can run a double out and up to get separation and show that you can work your way back to the quarterback when he is in trouble . Also your must have your route tree down Pact. . Our receivers are running the same route today that they have been running the past 3 years with no deviation that will not get you drafted . I see maybe Martin in the late rounds if he can show he can catch and run routes out of the back field ; I would line Martin up in the slot every now and then just to show his versatility from time to time . The Headless Horseman is to small to play LB and to slow to play in the secondary also he has issues with his shoulder popping in and out at times . I see some great FA's prospects but no draft picks .
