This may be off topic but hell what are mondays for. But I was wondering after nearly dying every September due to heat exhaustion. Is there some rule I dont know about that unless its a tv game it has to start at 6?
Why not start the game at 7-730 the sun will be below the press box and no one has to bake in the sun for a hour and a half. You notice the crowd does not get hype until the sun is gone.
Duke had a heat warning policy that specifially says if the sun is directly hitting fans, they could avoid that whole situation and save some cash if they just started the game one hour later.
Thought I would ask the experts is 6pm games mandated outside of tv.

I would say the #1 reason is security. Having a football crowd on campus until 10 pm is tough enough. Having them on until 11 pm is worse.
Maybe as the global warming/greenhouse crisis gets worse, it will outweight the security concern. We'll see in the next couple of years.

another "minor" factor is the lights have to be operated longer if games started later which increases power costs...

A lot of us also live out town which makes the trip back home even later or have to leave the game early. Six works fine for me.

Also where do you feed the visitor players after the game at 11 PM for a 7PM start.

I don't think that the traffic can be any worse then the traffic here in Gainesville after a UF game . But it would be nice to accommodate the fans needs .
