Y'all always seem interested in what's happened to the young men who pass through the system here, so I thought I'd bring you an update. You may remember my son Isaac, a punter here in 2015 and 2016. He transferred out to UNC Pembroke Spring of 2017. Because he stepped down to division II ball he was able to play in 2017 and earned the starting punter role there. He had a breakout season in 2018 earning 2nd team All American honors from the AFCA, Associated Press, and D2Football.com. His exploits got him on the radar of a couple of pro teams who invited him out to a junior pro day to work out for them this Spring. He comes back frequently to visit the team as he still has many friends at A&T and loves the success they've continued to have. His stats from the past 2 years. Career Punting Statistics Season | GP | ATT | YDS | Long | AVG | TB | FC | I20 | 50+ | BLK | 2017 | 10 | 56 | 2163 | 62 | 38.6 | 3 | 11 | 17 | 5 | 1 | 2018 | 10 | 51 | 2234 | 61 | 43.8 | 3 | 12 | 21 | 16 | 1 | Total | 20 | 107 | 4397 | 62 | 41.1 | 6 | 23 | 38 | 21 | 2 |
What the stats don't tell you in 2018. Of the 21 punts inside the 20, more than half of those were in the 10. With the exception of 1 game he managed to drop at least 1 punt inside the 5. His best game of the season came with putting a punt on the 1, the 2 and the 5 yard line, forced 4 fair catches and had nearly a 47 yard average. He still has 2 seasons to play and improve.

Thank you all for the kind words and well wishes!
The pro day went well. Evidently it was a "junior" type event where the players there weren't declaring for the draft and had at least a year or two of eligibility left. The event was mostly geared towards giving the young men a taste of what being under scout scrutiny would be like and to be put through their paces (40 times, personality test, interviews, etc). He also got to punt about 20 balls for them under their direction. 4 that he just put his leg into and were all 50+ and the rest were placement balls where they asked him to put them as close to the goal line as possible, or rugby style kicks on the move. They seemed pleased with his efforts but didn't offer much in the way of feedback.
