Both us and FAMU have our our BYE Saturday on 10/10 before the Snakes travel to us on 10/17. As much as I don't want to say it, ESPNU may move this game to Thursday night. If the MEAC Office was really on top of things, they would be campaigning for ESPN2 or ESPNU to televise this game on that Saturday. ESPN2 isn't going to show a MEAC game. Best would be to on ESPN3 and then show it on ESPNU at 10pm

ESPN2 or ESPNU is what we need to be pushing for.

Pushing for yes. I could see ESPNU but not ESPN2. Especially for a 1pm game

Liberty released their football home game kickoff times earlier this week. They will be having their postponed spring commencement on the same day that they play us. (JC Smith here in Charlotte is doing something similar by having their delayed spring commencement in October during their homecoming weekend). Sept. 12 vs. North Carolina A&T – 4 p.m. • Home Opener/LU Commencement For the rest of the story: www.liberty.edu/flames/index.cfm?PID=36963&newsID=23432&teamID=9

Have we taken any action to fill the September 5th slot?

Have we taken any action to fill the September 5th slot? Don’t hold your breath because it’s next to impossible to schedule an opponent this late and even trying to find a cupcake to replace Shaw, they would likely be from a small conference that’s losing for the fall. Wouldn’t be surprised if there is no one available but larger schools only at this point

So ... If the Big South decides to play football this year, could we play a Big South schedule easily slotting into the games that Hampton vacated?

I'm just saying if the CAA, Southern, Big South are playing football this year without incident, then our athletes are on the sidelines looking in. Black folk in leadership are always prematurely cautious to our detriment. I hope I'm wrong.

We're not playing football this season...period! Even if we could line up some games, it would be crazy to play football this season. If we did schedule games and and a bunch of players got the virus, the Chancellor would catch hell form parents and alums. I'm going to really miss football and the BGMM but I think this is the right thing to do.
