well, i just checked jacksonville state's record and they haven't loss a game since losing to us. and ecu? since losing to us, they loss to south florida but they beat unc and old dominion (who upset 13th ranked virginia tech). jsu's record is now 3-1 and ecu's record is 2-2. so far our wins over jsu and ecu are looking good! both jsu and ecu have played well since losing to us, both teams have a record of .500 or better. if we can keep up our winning ways for the rest of the season and both jsu and ecu continue playing well, it would really legitimize how good our guys really are...

That's why I think we have a chance to move back inside the top 5 by the end of this season.
If we run the table the rest of the way, we will have the best resume of any one loss FCS team in the country

If we run the table the rest of the way, we will have the best resume of any one loss FCS team in the country I think that's right. If anyone thought a first year coach was going to go undefeated that is a pipe dream. I would rather have a loss to Morgan State than to JSU or ECU..s"-t happens ..it's not a bad loss if we win out.

I think the Morgan loss still kills us. It's bigger than the other two wins when viewed by anybody looking for any reason to downplay us. A number of folks were just waiting on an opportunity to say we weren't legit, and Morgan was it. It's not gonna matter what JSU and ECU do at this point.
Back in 1991 Del State beat Youngstown but went 8-3. Youngstown went on to win the national championship that year. Del State got to say they beat Youngstown and tied us for the conference championship (even though they kicked our asss in Greensboro that year) and nobody really gave a isht. We got to go to the Heritage Bowl and they got to practice fake handoffs to three backs for next season.
It's like politics. If you're looking for a reason to say we're good then you claim the wins over JSU and ECU. The rest of the free world is looking for a reason to say we're not as good as advertised and we had a couple of early season fluke wins, and we gave them one when we lost that game.
IF we were to go undefeated the rest of the season(and I haven't seen anything on the offensive side of the ball against a team with a defense that makes that seem possible) I think it would take a lot of people losing a lot of games above us to get us above 8. I could see being behind three-loss teams because wins over conference teams still won't get us respect, especially if we're not scoring a lot on them.

Does it matter at all what Morgan State does the rest of the season?

Does it matter at all what Morgan State does the rest of the season? It does. It would have been nice if Morgan could have held on against Albany. Had they beat a CAA and then upset us... we likely don't fall out of the Top 10. Now... I'm rooting for Morgan to get 5-6 MEAC wins and finish 6-5 or 7-4. That only helps us. They can beat anyone left on their schedule... and they can lose to everyone other than Del. St. I'm not rooting for them to finish 8-3. That would mean that they would finish 7-0 in MEAC play and would have a head-to-head tiebreaker win against us (non-conference, but still counts). That's a mouthful... but it's something to keep an eye on.

I could see being behind three-loss teams because wins over conference teams still won't get us respect, especially if we're not scoring a lot on them. I'll dissent from this opinion a bit. The pollsters could have knocked us out of the Top 15 for losing to an 0-3 squad in one of the 2 lowest-rated conferences in FCS. Nope... left us at #12/13. We're already back at #11 due to normal attrition after a week. Elon is about to take an L at James Madison. We'll be back to at least #10 on Monday. That level of respect from the pollsters is all about the JSU/ECU wins... in conjunction with the history of wins from 2013-2017 that show that our program is not a fluke. Every squad can have a low floor given the aftermath of a hurricane. But every FCS squad doesn't have as high of a ceiling as ours. The FCS pollsters are still respecting our proven ceiling, IMO.

Also keep in mind that ECU still has an outside chance to be bowl eligible this year. If that happens, our win over them will look that much better.

We better hope Kennesaw State doesn't boat race Jacksonville State in SunTrust Park next week.

None conference losses do not count in the conference tiebreaker because they are OOC games . The lost to Morgan would not count as a conference loss .
