Hopefully, with the technology upgrades, you will be able to get through without having to make 500 calls or be on hold for hours before they tell you "no more rooms and you will be put on a waiting list". And unless you are at the top of that list, you can forget getting a room.

I'm unclear what's new except the date to queue up is after GHOE this year. Unless you can do this online and they eliminate/reduce set-a-sides, people will still be calling the reservation number, while driving over to the Sheraton to get in line on December 10th. I tried the number and guess what, yes, busy! (just kidding, voice mail)

I only stay at Marriott properties when I travel so I think the reservation process "should" be better. Marriott should have the staff, experience and equipment to handle the volume of reservation requests. But we'll have to wait and see.
I'm betting this first year will be a major cluster f*ck but the Marriott will eventually figure it out. Them mormons love a dollar and they will make sure to get every reservation possible.

The Sheraton called back. This is a one time change as of now. Marriott scheduled the systems change over GHOE week. To avoid at least one potential disaster they moved the reservation date for GHOE 2019 to Dec 10th. Until the new systems are in place they don't know whether the current process (in person and phone reservations only) will change.
