i just hope that the new guy is a great "recruiter" and if so, he stays put a while. with the upgrades made to corbett and the good season we had last year, recruiting should come a little bit easier than in the recent past. hopefully we'll see an upgrade in talent coming our way...

Valvano only won one championship (1983).....and that was 35 years ago. I'm not saying Martin isn't an asset on the bench, but I don't think his role should be anymore significant than the rest of the staff. I agree with OSA, with respect to making sure our new guy from High Point can recruit. I still think the major issue which affects our prosperity is the growth of the head coach. We're clearly getting better players. He needs to continue honing his chops with respect to calling plays (offense and defense) and making quality adjustments throughout games. Hopefully, he continues to make positive strides with this upcoming season. We won 20 games last year (great), but no banners are up in Corbett for anything the men's team did last year. There's plenty of room for improvement; let's keep pushing forward, with coach hopefully leading the way as it relates to the growth/progress of our program.....

Lol , got to be a reason no one can work for Joyner for more than a year. At least he didn't fight these last two

He's just trying to find the right fit and chemistry. At least the crew he had last year helped him improve to a 20 game winning season.
This crew may get him to 25 wins and the MEAC Championship.
The buck stop's with him "so" he gotta do what he gotta do.

So, you are advocating growing and improving from people who haven't traveled the path you are on! What is he drawing from? I liked what the Coach from New York brought to the table.

Why did the coach from New York leave again...? If nothing else, I liked his ability to recruit New York!!

His wife wanted him back home and he choose to be with his family. Nothing sinister or conspiratorial about his move back to Long Island.
