Oh, and one more thing: it can not be overstated just how sharp Raynard is looking in practice. He is dialed in on every snap like this is the 4th quarter of the Celebration Bowl. Seem's like he is fully embracing the pressure and heightened expectations that come with all these preseason accolades he's garnered. One can only hope that with Lamar's senior leadership to go along with his laser focus on the field is contagious and the rest of the team catches it.

If your QB is focused, it can only make every one else be dialed in. Hopefully the O-line is technically sound at this point, that will be the key.

But, I have to say he is one step from the NFL draft if he is not fully dialed in He's not ready for the next level NO TIME OFF, After the season, he has to begin prepping for the draft, it's great that he apparently understands and has excepted that.

Like Craig, I was able to attend the practice session at Smith last Saturday. Couple of observations: - Raynard looks like he is already is mid-season form. Tight spirals in all the individual drills; good footwork and timing in the 11 on 11 stuff.
- E. Bell was not wearing a boot but he still was held out of practice. Nobody seemed too concerned but personally I have not really seen him do anything football-wise since the Celebration Bowl. Almost impossible for him to not be rusty when he finally does return to action.
- Dacquari Wilson looks solid at the center position. No bad snaps from what I saw and he was manhandling D-lineman in position drills. He might be one less thing we have to worry about as far as the O-line goes.
- Z. Rush made a nice play in 11-on-11 drills in which he broke sharply on a slant pass and made the interception. He looks like he might be the tallest of all the linebackers. Probably a legit 6'3 right now.
- We got a quick glimpse of the athleticism of Chance Pride. He is both fast and extremely quick and has an uncanny knack for getting separation. They had him mostly working on kick returns but he also caught a couple of deep passes in the receiver drills
- South Carolina transfer Antoine Wilder was working with the first-team defense at outside linebacker. Or maybe it was the rover position; kinda hard to tell.
- That new WR from Navy is huge. He looks like a tight end but is a very smooth runner. My guess is he could probably fill in the Trey Scott role if they were looking for a duplicate.
- Ahmad Bah and Zach Leslie both made some circus catches on deep balls when it looked like they were well covered. I feel sorry for any smaller Dbs who have to cover these guys on fade routes.
Great update, How's Fowler doing at QB? Thanks and keep it coming...

I need updates on the offensive line. They are the key to our season.

When I was at practice on Wednesday, Dontae Keys was working at left tackle with the first unit and the KS State transfer, Breontae Matthews, was working at right tackle.
I didn't notice Marcus Pettiford out there and I couldn't remember any other jersey numbers.

I think someone questioned the size of the o-line....these two equate to almost 13 feet and 620 pounds anchoring both ends of the off-line - LOL!!!
On a side note......Whats going on with Ron Hunt I have not heard much about him in the camp reports ?

I wouldn't necessarily view any omission of a particular athlete's name in these practice reports as some indirect statement about their performance.
To be honest, I have only been to two practices this summer and when I get there I don't have a roster in front of me. I basically just try to jot down certain memorable plays that occur and the individuals who catch my eye.
My main focus these first few days has been to identify the newcomers. Most of them appear to be as good as advertised.
Hunt, if I remember correctly, caught a few balls during the practice last weekend at Smith and he stills looks as big and fast as ever. It's just that I didn't personally see him make any circus catches like Leslie and Bah. Granted, those guys always seem to make a couple of great catches every time I watch them, so maybe they are just doing that every day.

You need the swing tackle getting reps on both sides in the event of injury... and event to prevent injury similar to our rotations last year.

Pettiford was nursing a foot the other day. Nothing serious. Just keeping the big guns rested and healthy for the opener like Bell. Our coaches already know what they can do. Besides, it's the younger, less experienced guys who really need the most reps this time of the year.

We will get tested in the trenches the first 2 games so we need to do whatever we have to order ti win that battle. If we can win those battles then the rest is history.

i just hope they don't bring bell back before he's 100% healthy. he's the best wr we have on the team, but it ain't like we ain't got no "quality depth" playing behind him. i'm anxious to see bell back on the football field, but not before he's 100% ready. we don't want whatever injury he had to "nag" him for the entire season. let him sit until he's totally healed and ready to go...

Rout running for Bell with but NO contact until the first game This is just my opinion

Looks like Dontae Keys just got put on full scholarship:
Must've had a hell of an offseason.
