Police: Slain N.C. A&T students did not participate in altercation
Posted: Sunday, October 2, 2016 7:34 am By Danielle Battaglia danielle.battaglia@greensboro.com Updated at 12:06 p.m.
GREENSBORO — Officers said two N.C. A&T students shot and killed Sunday morning were innocent bystanders to a fight that broke out during a party. "We don't have anything indicating the two students were involved in the altercation," Greensboro Police Cpl. M.D. Matthews said. "They were two kids being college kids and it's very sad." A Greensboro Police news release named the victims at 19-year-old Alisia Dieudonne of Homewood Illinois and 21-year-old Amhad Campbell of Kitrell, N.C. Matthews said officers responded at 2:11 a.m. Sunday to a reported disturbance at 911 Circle Drive in Greensboro. Before arriving at the off-campus residence officers learned the call had been upgraded to a potential shooting. Police located Dieudonne and Campbell shot inside the residence and took both college students to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead. "It is a tough day for the university and all of the N.C. A&T family," Greensboro Police Capt. Nathaniel Davis said. This upsets and angers me.
I don't agree with the argument of the "all lives matter" types, but it's pretty ridiculous to continually complain about the police when every one of us has a much better chance of being shot and killed by our own.
I know full well that every race kills its own race more than any other, but I ain't concerned about every race because I'm not a member of every race.
I also don't buy the "niggas vs. black folk" argument anymore. We are all niggas in the eye of any number of people until we prove otherwise. Shootings like this almost legitimize the excessive force we are subject to due to generalizations about us being more prone to violence, more aggressive, and more led by emotions.
There was this movie called "Drop Squad" that came out when I was at A&T. I barely remember it but I believe the basic premise was that a squad existed that reprogrammed sellouts. The main target was some dude that worked for an ad agency that put out negative stereotypes.
We need a drop squad to reprogram these fools running around threatening and shooting us. There is no bigger sellout.
Two young Aggies were killed, most likely by some local fool from Greensboro. There's no way in hell anybody from Greensboro should be killing a college student in Greensboro. They could've just killed a future mayor, president of a company they may hire them when nobody else would, doctor that treats them or a family member,...
This really, really bothers me. It bothers me to the point I'm ready to say the hell with the blm movement and propose a movement to protest these criminals that are undermining the movement and undermining our people.
May these children rest in peace and may something positive for our people result. I pray to God that these children did not die in vain. Far too many already have.

Very terrible. House parties have always been dangerous for college students. No security, locals up to no good, drugs, alcohol, etc. They should always be warned against attending.

I'm still angry. Probably angrier.
I'm betting the perpetrators will show up at a blm rally looking for some azz off of our young women.
All the good work done by blm is IMMEDIATELY undone by this.
The same co-worker who talked to me about having watched some of the game the other night sent me an instant message this morning talking about how horrible the news out of A&T was. He's white, btw.
Even if blm magically causes the police to change their obviously horrible training and tactics, this problem will still exist and sadly could theoretically worsen. The chump or chumps that caused the deaths of these two NEED to be victims of police brutality.
Imagine if the cops ended up somehow pulling over the perpetrators prior to their arrival at the party and killed them. You almost know for sure that the two victims would be at a rally for those swine. That's how twisted this is. The victims can easily be assumed to have cared more about the lives and well-being of the perpetrator or perpetrators than the perpetrator or perpetrators cared about the victims or even themselves.
What do we do about this?

That's why I'm so glad Sheraton 4 seasons figured out a way to keep the locals out the hotel parties during homecoming.

Very terrible. House parties have always been dangerous for college students. No security, locals up to no good, drugs, alcohol, etc. They should always be warned against attending. A&T needs to buy that Riverwalk/Campus Evolution property and then raze that ish. In fact, the A&T Real Estate foundation needs to be in more control of all of the apartments near campus. It was dumb but my roommates and myself threw plenty of house parties. We had very minimal security but luckily, no fights broke out. We need to discourage our student body from hosting and attending these events, especially close to campus. The units are way too cramped and security is laxed. I know they have GPD block off car access for these joints during GHOE but they are non-existent most other weekends.
