Can't one of you Dudley alums give us an honest assessment? With 4.4 speed I'm surprised you can't find any info on him.

Sorry I'm a Page alum but my Dudley friends really don't have any info on the young man other then to say that he is a fine young man with good academics. That's about it ! He could have been one of those type of kids that flew under the radar on a talented team. It won't be the first time that that has happened. There must be something that Coach and staff see's in his play to have made them offer him a scholarship ! Who knows it could be just a feeling that we coaches get about some players that we see. Just look at The Kid and how that worked out.

The kid Elijah Bell from West Va. may be a good pick up for us (he committed). I talked to my partner in WVA and he said he was a 2-way playa in football. WR--6'3" 205 and DB. 50 receptions/24.3 yds. per and 7 INT's. Basketball playa averaging over 18 pts/per game. USA Today WVA Offensive Playa of Yr. in football.
Also, heads up we got a big back in the bag. I hear he is around 230/235 lbs. Not sure if he will be FB or RB.

His film is, to say the least, impressive. You can't coach athleticism and size. www.hudl.com/athlete/3119961/elijah-bell

In the HUDL video he seems to be a decent pickup. Especially if the 4.4 speed is correct. It is hard to make a good highlight tape as a DB these days because every team goes 4-5 wide and its hard to always be in on the play. As a DB you have to show your skills speed wise and at camps. Years ago if you were the man at DB a team only had 2 WRs and you could put one on lockdown all game and they be forced to throw at you. Now teams will just try and avoid you. Very little movement with his Hips not Fluid in his movements for a DB !Plays high and Stiff ! Could be a good Safety, Need a lot of work on his Technique if he is to play Corner Your are 100% correct in your assessment. He was playing VERY high. I thought he could have been beaten a few times, but the throws were bad. He is kind of lanky and thin, so hat's what those type of kids normally do. That can be coached out of him. CBs with his size and speed that already have those attributes are being snatched up by the big boys. Thats why I think this is a great staff. They can see the potential as long as the speed, size, and ATTITUDE to get better is there.

Did some quick research on CBs in NC. Only 6 are ranked in the top 250 CBs in the country. ONLY 3 are in the top 100 CBs. All of the guys seem to be around 5' 11", 170bs. That's like the prototype build at that position in high school these days.
I type all that to say that, ALL of our CB recruits pretty much have to be diamonds in the rough or converted athletes. FCS schools are only getting 2-star CBs. If an FCS schools lands a 3 star CB(which are all ranked in top 150) they have done some MAJOR work.

Wheeling Park's Bell wins WR award By Shaw Rine The Intelligencer Dec 18, 2015 Comments WHEELING - The really good ones aspire to be more and know where to go to find a map for success: They go to the great ones. The night before the West Virginia Class AAA championship earlier this month, Wheeling Park High School receiver Elijah Bell sat in front of his television and turned on a show about one of the all-time best at his position, wide receiver. That player also happens to be from the Mountain State. "I just watched his (ESPN) 30-for-30 (film)," Bell said of former DuPont High School, Marshall University and NFL star Randy Moss. "He was a kid from West Virginia growing up and fighting adversity just like I do." Now the two all-staters will be forever linked as Bell has been selected as the second recipient of the Randy Moss Award, given annually by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association to the state's best prep receiver. www.herald-dispatch.com/sports/high_school_sports/wheeling-park-s-bell-wins-wr-award/article_d187eb42-cdd1-5ded-b2a5-cebdfff070d9.html

I think we probably have stolen a really good one away from the big boys in Bell. Wheeling Park’s Bell hauls in Moss Award as state’s top prep receiver By Shawn Rine The Intelligencer
Wheeling Park’s Elijah Bell led the state with 1,214 receiving yards and 17 touchdown catches.
WHEELING — The thing about the really good ones is they aspire to be more and know where to go to find a map for success — the great ones. The night before the West Virginia Class AAA championship earlier this month, Wheeling Park receiver Elijah Bell sat down in front of his television and turned on a show about one of the all-time best at his position, who also happens to be from the Mountain State.“I just watched his [ESPN Films] ‘30-for-30,’ ” Bell said of former DuPont, Marshall and NFL star Randy Moss. “He was a kid from West Virginia growing up and fighting adversity just like I do.” Now the two all-staters will be forever linked, as Bell has been selected as the second recipient of the Randy Moss Award, given annually by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association to the state’s best prep receiver.“To have my name up there with his means a lot,” Bell said after the Patriots beat Capital 23-15 to win the school’s first state football championship. Jefferson’s Christian Johnson, the inaugural winner, finished second. Capital’s Miguel “Crunchy” Bays was third, followed by Fairmont Senior’s Nick Davisson. Prior to this season, Bell was more known for his exploits as a basketball player, both at Wheeling Park and on the AAU circuit. But it was a choice he made last spring that has paid handsome dividends. “ The really big factor is track, and I want to think Coach [Drew] Biehl for telling me to come out and do that,” Bell said. “Last year I wasn’t able to make the big runs, but because of [track] I was this year. Also our quarterback Cross [Wilkinson], the way he puts the ball where defenders can’t get it and I can make moves after the catch, that helps a lot too.” - For the rest of the story: www.wvgazettemail.com/sports/20151218/wheeling-parks-bell-hauls-in-moss-award-as-states-top-prep-receiver#sthash.iu9JZVRF.dpuf

Keeping my fingers crossed that Bell stays firm! If he stays true he has a chance to help us w/MBB and track. Seems like he is inspired to get better also. I will rejoice on signing day (hopefully).

I think he will stick. If he is following the R. Moss model ! The thing I like is the kid made A&T his first choice you cannot tell me that he did not have offers from bigger programs then A&T. Also I hope that Coach B and staff has done there due diligence on his academics so that there will be no enrollment issue problems !

i concur, seems to be rather "physical" too. however, i do have concerns regarding the apparent competition level he played against in his video. but we'll know for sure once he gets to aggieland...
