This could be an interesting game for us. I almost never give an HBCU a chance vs an FBS squad, even a bad one but this could be an opportunity. With most MEAC teams seemingly loading up on FBS games it might come down to non conference wins. Common opponent is Del State who they annihilated and we struggled with. Lol, probably why they wanted another MEAC team. With our experience, team speed and hopefully a little luck I think we can spring the upset. Before anyone calls me crazy I will point to the last time we played a not so good FBS team (ASU) in 2013.

App St was still in the Southern Conference when we beat them in 2013... Kent St is a very winnable game - I still say we lose 28-21; I see flags being thrown for phantom penalties after Cohen has broken through the secondary. We have no shot vs Tulsa. Since Tulsa hired Philip Montgomery from Baylor, they light up the scoreboard. I see them beating us like 63-27.... Tulsa was a good game to schedule......BEFORE MONTGOERY GOT THERE. We did that, but they have gotten things together at Tulsa....

The one thing with Tulsa is that we will be able to hangs some points they play no def at all...Tulsa def is equivalent to Carolina three years ago... I agree with your score unless we pick up some game changers on def.

My goal in those games...get a check and don't get any starters hurt. After I checked the schedule of the other top MEAC teams and realized they don't have any OOC FCS games I figured the Kent State and Tulsa games won't hurt us. If we win out in the conference. But if NCCU or SCSU or BC-U trips us up, we are done for.

I don't see us putting up more than 14 points against Tulsa. The Carolina defense that shut us down gave up 600+ rushing yards to a Baylor team that had no passing game and a 4th string QB.

Tulsa Def is a lot better then you may think !!!!Recruiting: Ex-Baylor coordinator Montgomery building Central Texas pipeline to Tulsa (http://www.wacotrib.com/sports/high_schools/central_texas_football/recruiting-ex-baylor-coordinator-montgomery-building-central-texas-pipeline-to/article_b70dc32c-2498-5f9e-86d7-7766a4149f33.html )

I hope we play the "perfect" game against Kent State. If we do we have a shot. "Funky B" has to have them ready to go from the whistle. That is a game I am seriously thinking about going to since I have cut my work load.
Realistically-------Tulsa------we have absolutely no chance to win. However, we can gain valuable experience and I hope we come outta it without any major injuries. It can make us better for MEAC play.

Kent State is a winnable game. We would have to play perfect ball, but its winnable.

Yeah, we are thinking about Kent State...NCCU is our biggest nightmare. And I don't think SC State is going to forget last year's game either. We are going to have a hell of a time next year in the conference...never mind our OOC's! But if we pull off the sweep in the conference next year, I will start a fund drive to build a statue of Rod Broadway in front of Aggie Stadium!

A&T has a long the road to travel before they get to Central. there's no use in beating central if you lose all the games before you get to them ! Let get through spring ball and then the rest of the season. if we are as good as we think we are let's take care of business and deal with central when we get to Central !!

If the OL gets better, the offense gets better. If the offense gets better, the team gets better. If the team gets better, we have a chance.
