Three Aggies Named HBCU Football All-American
Courtesy: NC A&T Sports Information Release: 01/22/2016
GREENSBORO – The reverberations from the North Carolina A&T football team’s 2015 season continued on Friday when the American Urban Radio Networks announced the members of the 2015 SBN Black College All-American Team. Running back Tarik Cohen (5-6, 173, JR, Bunn, N.C.), offensive tackle Brandon Parker (6-7, 279, RSO, Kannapolis, N.C.) and cornerback Tony McRae (5-9, 178, SR, Laurinburg, N.C.) made the 25-member team. In addition, N.C. A&T head coach Rod Broadway won the SBN Eddie Robinson award for coach of the year, while Cohen earned the SBN Doug Williams award for offensive player of the year. Broadway and Cohen will receive their awards at the Black College Hall of Fame Enshrinement Ceremony on March 19, 2016 in Atlanta. “This is never about me,” said Broadway. “I haven’t made a tackle since 1977. I’ve never caught a pass, I’ve never thrown a touchdown or ran a long touchdown, so this is not about me. This season was about these young men who made the sacrifice last summer to become champions.” Broadway led the Aggies to a 10-2 mark overall and a 7-1 finish in the MEAC as the Aggies won their second consecutive co-MEAC title. Broadway also went on to lead the Aggies to a 41-34 win over Alcorn State in the inaugural Air Force Reserve Celebration Bowl. On Oct. 10, Broadway earned his 100th career victory as the Aggies defeated Norfolk State, 27-3 at William “Dick” Price Stadium in Norfolk, Va. He is 38-19 (.667) as the head coach of N.C. A&T. CONGRATULATIONS TO COACH BROADWAY (AND HIS ENTIRE STAFF)!!! No one deserves this more! Looking back from where the program was when he took the job, what he has accomplished is truly amazing. Cleaning up the mess made by a former Eddie Robinson player and getting the Eddie Robinson Award is very ironic. Keep this Aggie train moving forward!

Congratulations to Coach Broadway, Tarik Cohen, Brandon Parker and Tony McRae on winning their respective awards and recognitions. Also, congratulations to all our football coaches and team members for a great, great 2015 season. Hopefully, the 2016 season will be even greater.

Gardin should have most, most definitely been selected. Don't know what the selection committee was thinking!!

Great honor! Congratulations!!
It is truly ironic for Broadway to get the Eddie Robinson Award after the mess left by former Eddie Robinson playa Lee Fobbs, Sr. But lets not forget that mess continued and we went through several more coaches AFTER that before we got it right. So, bad choices were made continuously by the big ballers and shot callers.
Someone mentioned Gardin not getting the return specialist award. I agree he should have gotten it. Gardin broke the FCS punt return record and averaged an unheard of 23.1 per punt return with 3 TD'S. Additionally, he returned 4 KO's for a 18.3 per average. Quinn, however, was named to the award last year and scored 5 TD's on returns. Punts he returned 7 for 5.6yd average and 1 TD. It seems his 29.5 per KO return w/4 TD's influenced the selection committee more.
Close but at the least I gotta have two co-return specialists. I was always told that a even swap ain't no swindle. This was Quinn's last year so, hopefully, Khris G. will continue his own legacy next year.
