This simply reiterates what we already know. You lose money in the I-AA playoffs. Although you may have longer term gains in increased exposure, alumni giving, enrollment applications. etc. Even though I'm not convinced the "we" would realize any of the longer term benefits to any great extent we still should give it at least one legitmate shot.
Anyway I would rather put post season pay day efforts into building a good men's basketball team ala Davidson.

If you think App State didn't make TONS of money from their recent football success in the playoffs, you are kidding yourself. I am sure alumni donations have gone through the roof, as well as corporate sponsorships, broadcasting sales, etc. They are about to build the Taj Mahal of 1-AA football sky boxes. You can't drive for more than 20 miles on 1-40 without seeing their football championship billboards.
Everyone wants to be associated with a winner. On the flip side, A&T is in the midst of a 27-game losing streak and we have never had more than half of our scoreboard advertising panels filled.
Let's stop being myopic and look at the big picture.

Who's myopic? We see the big picture, we're just not in it yet.
Davidson has gotten 1200 general student transfer applications since their win against Georgetown this past week. In one week!Their coach has been there 19 years. Basketball is the ticket! Build a Sweet 16 team.
(BTW, football is still king but basketball is the ticket.)

Do you think A&T would benefit as greatly as App State if A&T were to win a national football championship in I-AA (FCS)?

One? No. Three in a row? Moreso.
We would be the new Grambling. Every black kid in America would strongly consider us.
