i could careless what happened at tennessee state. he's not coaching at tennessee state no more. his personal life wasn't in shambles when he coached at scsu either, but i suppose that doesn't matter, just what happened at tennessee state matters.
i gave my reasons for sticking with this coach and ain't no stats gonna change my mind. i could absolutely careless what happened at tennessee state...

Quote: "If that is the case . Just let his contact run out its just that sample."
The administration, and y'all on this board, could have done the same with Eaves, but didn't. Why Alexander get preferential treatment?
Quote: "to me, for a new coach to come in and take over the talent that coach cy worked so very hard to put together would be unfair to coach cy."
You could say the same about Eaves, since that entire senior class was recruited by him, but I don't think anybody contemplated that when he got the sack.
Quote: "contrary to several previous posts, coach cy has only had 2 down seasons, not 3."
Only if you count the tournament run. His first A&T team finished below .500 in the regular season,so that does make, for me, 3 consecutive down seasons. Oh yeah, that initial season was with a senior dominated lineup, but still a losing regular season record, which, very limited, suggest that an experienced team may not do better under him.

You may not care he got fired during the season at Tennessee State..... You may not care he got fired at Texas A&M Corpus Christi as he was part of a staff that finished 6-24 in his final season there (that record sounds remotely familiar)..... You may not care we've gone from 20-17, to 9-23, to 6-21 in consecutive years..... You may not care we lost to a winless FAMU team last week and to a 9-17 BCU team by 21 points in consecutive days....in February..... I respect your viewpoint on this matter.....it's just extremely hard to keep giving Cy the benefit of the doubt when the return on investment keeps dwindling with each successive year. Believe me, I've tried to give Cy the benefit of the doubt.....I just can't anymore. He just keeps losing...and to everyone.

You can roll the ball out on the court and let the inmates run the asylum and have the same results.

My thing is this from an experienced coach the record should have gotten better each year not worse. Look what Broadway did and continues to do.

My thing is this from an experienced coach the record should have gotten better each year not worse. Look what Broadway did and continues to do. look what broadway did when he was central's coach when he lost his wife "prematurely" just like coach cy did? except coach cy also lost his mother on top of that. coach broadway left nccu entirely after losing his late wife even though he had just completed an "undefeated" regular season at central. he moved all the way down to louisiana just to get a fresh start in life. based on reports, coach was very "devastated" when he lost his wife, so he chose to move away because it was too difficult to remain in durham since it reminded him too much of the pain and sorrow associated with losing a love one. you cats obviously have never "prematurely" lost an immediate family member because apparently ya'll give very little consideration to losing one's mother and wife as if it was "business as usual" when it happened to coach cy. i wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy, but until you experience something like that, you'll have no way of knowing the pain and grief that it puts a person through. yes indeed it could adversely impact your job performance, "especially" recruiting...

Look a lot of us agree with you but we are only looking for the best way to handle this with out A&T having to pay two coaches . That would take money from the program.

i cannot sugarcoat the men losing to famu, that was a bad loss and there’s no other way to view that loss. however, if the top 8 of our rotation returns next season as well as the transfers in waiting, i still support coach cy coming back for at least 1 more season when he has a much more mature roster and additional help from the transfers. contrary to several previous posts, coach cy has only had 2 down seasons, not 3. last year and this year were his only down seasons at a&t and i still place some of the blame on a ton of seniors graduating all at the same time when coach cy first took this job. also during those 2 down seasons is when his personal life took a turn for the worst. hard to swallow the loss to famu, but i still support coach cy... I'm with you, OSA. I'm going to bookmark this thread and come back to it a year from now.... regardless of the result.... just to see how things have changed. It will be a interesting exercise.

As I stated before, I respect all different viewpoints. Personally, I don't like having discussions like this. I get no pleasure talking about potentially needing a change in direction for any Aggie sports program. It definitely gets tiresome when it appears to be every 2-3 years with the same sport (men's basketball). I'll try my best not to comment anymore on this thread. The only thing I caution folks on is don't become so immune to losing to where it no longer bothers you. I just cannot keep writing off these horrific results. I still wish the best for Cy and this team over these last few weeks......I really am not a fan for "lighning-in-a-bottle" results (lose for 3+ months, but have 1 good week like in 2013), but I'll take any glimmer of hope I can get. Going to Corbett these past few years has not been a fun experience......

Question.....From a personnel standpoint how will the team look much different in 2015/2016 ?
We have one graduating Sr. Akinkeba and one transfer elgibile next year. I think there is another player who was red shirted due to injury ? Anyone know his status; I think he had shoulder surgery..
I do know we have and offer to a 3-star center from Miss. according to ESPN. He has 7-8 other offers as well. It seems to me that the roster will probably be churned some doing the off season if not we will have pretty much the same team.
