i got to thinking, this dude is on pace to break just about every aggie rushing record that’s on the books. in terms of statistics, if he stays healthy he could easily go down as a&t’s all time most productive running back in the history of aggie football!
so it begs the question, at 5’6” approximately 172 pounds (soaking wet), will cohen have a chance to play on sunday’s in the nfl? i mean, its not the norm, but there have been guys his size who have played in the nfl. so what’s your opinion? can cohen play in the nfl? and if so, do you think he will be drafted? can he play running back or will he only be used as a special teams guy?
what’s your take?

D'Anthony Thomas was drafted and is a very respectable as a return specialist. Warrick Dunn was a very great back a decade ago. Overall, he has a shot but that chance will be in 2017. Right now, he needs to put on 5 - 10 Lbs while keeping his speed, agility and quickness. We might not have the training facilities and technology in place to do this, however. But he is running track and is looking pretty good on those indoor tracks.

There's definitely a niche for him in the NFL. Will he get drafted...probably not. However, if he develops his pass catching skills, he'd be a match-up nightmare for any linebacker in the NFL. I liken his skill set to Darren Sproles. Also, he'd have to really earn his living on special teams. But, all it'd take is an offensive-minded guru to make him a pro-bowler.

i agree, i think cohen will have a chance at the next level. however, i think he’ll need to continue to improve, get stronger and yes, even get faster. i mean, he has “superior speed” relative to the meac. but his superior meac speed only becomes “good speed” at the nfl level.
i think he’ll have to get at least a little bigger (without losing speed), a lot stronger, and a little faster if he’s gonna have major impact at the next level. running track will go a long way towards improving his speed, but if i were him, i’d try to find the most credible personal trainer possible to help prepare him for the next level.
i think if he continues to break those long touchdown runs and rush for over 1,100 yards per season, i think there’ll be a good chance that he’ll get drafted in the later rounds like the 6th or 7th rounds. he has the tools to play in the nfl, he just needs to develop those tools over the next 2 years to the nfl level which is a pretty big jump from the meac...

The one thing about Cohen that I noticed is that he doesn't settle. Look how he is running track this year. He didn't have to do that. He could have just took the Spring off like every other football play and just lifted weights and did football conditioning.

That's a good point to Monster and it is very important. Alot of times that desire and passion is what makes the difference for player going from college to the NFL. From day 1 when he set foot on campus, he was out to prove everyone or at least all the naysayers wrong. So, it becomes proving to the country and all the schools that passed on him because of his size that he is the real deal. I believe if he gets a fair shot, he'll make it.

He's got the speed and heart to play in the NFL. The only issue is if the NFL will give him a chance. I'm just hoping he keeps improving and stays healthy...if he does that he's got a shot at the NFL.

His biggest attribute is his heart , "da kid" has the heart of a lion . He is also very mature at his age , I like the fact that he pledged to work harder in the off season , running track can only make him better overall .

Sproles has always had a thick lower base, (thick thighs and legs) also Sproles returned kicks in college. Sproles was a 180lbs out of college but had the lower base of a 200 lb'.er. Cohen needs to work on his return skills. Yes he has a chance its all about timing and need in the show. I can see Cohen as a free agent so he can shop his skills to the right team.

He has a very good shot but he better learn how to hold on to the ball in clutch situation.

He has a very good shot but he better learn how to hold on to the ball in clutch situation. That will come from coaching. The kid (Cohen) runs with a fluent style and by that I mean he dose not hold the ball high and tight. Even going into the line the ball is way from his body, because he is always looking for open field on his next cut. He has to learn that he can still make the same cuts and still protect the ball by holding it close to his body. Like Barbara had the same problem at one point in his NFL playing days. The Kid will make the adjustment.

I would agree that Cohen is a talented and tough young man but as it stands at the moment he is to small for the nfl. Even though Sproles and Cohen are the same height the body type is far different. Sproles is very thick in his lower half. Cohen is small in his lower half and has very little body fat on him so I am not sure if he is able to put on the needed 20lbs. In addition, if he is able to put on the 20lbs will he be able to maintain his speed? Running track is good for his speed but not good for the weight gain that he needs. What he needs is a strength coach that knows how to help kids with their bodies and train to position. How good is the strength coach?
