Coach Ross mentioned that Desmond Lawrence has some NFL scouts looking at him already as well. My guess is that they're looking at his kick return potential. I think running track will only help Cohen. And I don't buy into the notion that Tarik HAS to put on excessive weight to make it into the NFL. Take a look at two 3rd and 4th round draft picks from 2014.... De'Anthony Thomas from Oregon (Kansas City) and Dri Archer from Kent St. (Pittsburgh) espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/16945/deanthony-thomasespn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/16755/dri-archerBoth guys are in the 5'8", 175 lb range.... but fast-fast.... just like Tarik. Thomas was a track guy, like Tarik as well. I think the worst thing you could do is force Tarik to put on weight. I suspect he'll natural get up to the 175-180 range by the time he finishes here... then let nature take its course with the young man. The main things that will help him the most is to a) utilize him more in the passing game and b) rotate him in on kick and punt returns. With Cartwright set to be a bigger part of the running game next year, it's time to expand Cohen's game into what he'll project to be as a pro.... IMO... Based on the direct the NFL game is headed.... I expect Tarik Cohen to be drafted in 2017... and that will be huge for our program.

I wouldn't draft him and I wouldn't expect him to be drafted....
But you'd best believe he would be the very first kid I would try to sign to a free agent contract 15 seconds after the draft. I suspect he'll get tryouts and may very well make an NFL team. If not, he'd set records in Canada.

If he were a senior today he might not get drafted but lets not forget he has two more years!!!! Exactly... it's not the Tarik Cohen we see right now... it's the Tarik Cohen we see in 2017.... we'll have to agree to disagree on this one, DOOMS.....

The 2017 class of running backs will be over loaded , even with out the one's that jump early. Also to be truthful the level of competitiveness in the MEAC is not that great. I don't see The Kid being drafted, but as I said before , his being a free agent could open up more doors because he gets to pick where he would like to play. He also needs to start returning pants and kickoffs . I see him as a slot receiver with the right team or system but not as a RB.

This Brother has Skills of a Big Cat...crazy talent. I love watching Him 'dance' on 3 and 4 people on the field! When He said that he wouldn't let us down again, I believe Him! http://instagram.com/p/2ZU51LS1qi

Hey that kids got skills. If he were 6+ feet tall with his speed and pass catching skills, I'd say he would definitely get a good look from the NFL. However, if he had all that and was 6 feet tall, he probably wouldn't be at A&T. That said, if he stays healthy and continue to perform at a league leading level, I think he's got a good shot. Either way, I'm going to enjoy watching him play these next two years!

I see The Kid as more of a West Welker type. Welker made his name at Texas Tech most directly as a Punt returner up until his Jr and senior year blossoming into an outstanding slot receiver. if the kid is molded right and included more in the passing game not just out of the back field on little swing passes but running more up field routs and lining up in the slot at times that will show his versatility possibly opening up more interest in him.

But with the emphasis on our offense getting Tarik the ball in the passing game... I think he be in position to get drafted by 2017.

Drafted? Rooting for it, but that's a tall order from a RB in the MEAC. He would have to play ABOVE Maurice Hicks type levels. I think he'll get on a roster though.

I think if you look at it from the viewpoint of the people whose jobs depend on drafting players, you ain't drafting him...
unlessssss
He breaks a foot off in Carolina and adds kick returns to his repertoire. Then you have a body of work outside regular fcs schools to show the guys that write the checks when you say "I want to draft this little tiny guy from this school you probably never heard of."
The cool thing is I'm sure prior to coming to Ayantee, nobody was mentioning Cohen and NFL in the same sentence. I don't think he had many offers coming out of high school.

I like the fact that he is Aggie bread! Not a transfer. Was recruited and trained at A&T.

He would have to dig deeper the just Carolina to get that call on draft day. that kid Crockett North Dakota State didn't even get drafted and that dude is a beast and has proven himself against FBS opponent. if I'm not mistaken he was picked up by Green Bay.the kid will get a shot and I hope to pick the right team that can use your skills.
