Gator, I agree that we did a fabulous show with a entertaining thyme. The other bands did the same old boring halftime shows and "attempted" to do something different with singers or other gimics. None touched the Blue and Gold Marching Machine's innovation or delivery. That said, I still have to give props to Southern for their musicianship and sound. Although they did a traditional halftime show, they did it damn well. If they every adopt A&T's flair for innovation and intricate musicial arrangements they will be much more entertaining.

A message to my Aggie family...
After last year's Honda performance, this year everybody in the Dome was waiting for A&T's final..."naw da didn't" moment. When A&T didn't do something amazing at the end of the show, most folks were disappointed. What this proved was if you every do something that amazes the crowd, they will expect it over and over.
Now that I've watched the show several dozen times from several dozen angles (for the restriction on recording the show there were plenty of videos), it was a very good show. And in the long list of amazing shows that our band has done, this is just one more for the list. The good news for Dr. Ruff and his staff is that every time they take the field everyone is now expecting "lightning and thunder" from their performance. The bad news is it's damn hard to make it "lightning and thunder" every time. But A&T has done it several times and there's a bunch of bands out there that have not sniffed A&T's level of creativity and entertainment.
Knowing Dr. Ruff, you can bet he's already thinking about how he can push the envelope even more next marching band season. In this era when HBCU's are struggling to compete with other schools, it's nice to know that A&T at least has a marching band program that other schools envy. That said, when you get on the top you cannot get complacent. Just like with athletics, if we want to continue having a winning program alums have got to make donations. Next time you got a dollar or two to donate, don't forget the Blue and Gold Marching Machine.
