Anyone have an idea on how many Juco's come into winning programs? I'm trying to understand if the Juco route actually works or not. What was the average number of Jucos coming into Hampton, App, or any other succesful D-1aa program vs what we and other bottom dwellers bring in? Cause I would think we still get the leftovers after Div1 has combed the Juco scene.
I've always been against to many Jucos, but some people like them as a quick fix. I'm NOT talking about Div1 transfers.

Nebraska used to dominate in the 80's and they used to have alot of JUCO's.

Nebraska used to dominate in the 80's and they used to have alot of JUCO's. That ended when the Governor ended the state prison's work release program.

FAMU had a ton under Billy Joe. Comegy seems rather fond of them too. Once you're program is established you really shouldn't be getting that many. Only to fill a need where attrition has occured or to sign a dominating can't-miss prospect. That's the theory anyway.

Montgomery County in Maryland. I'd heard he was all set to go to Howard but the academic requirements sent him our way. I remember my ex-girlfriend who went to a major saw him play and said "I don't mean any harm but what in the hell is that guy doing at A&T?"

Their biggest impact is usually at a skill position but JUCO linemen, especially offensive linemen, generally aren't all that great with just a few exceptions.

Ivan Butler was a good one. He went to some junior college in Kansas.
Jason Douglas looked like he was about to be decent, but back then Hayes had his sick love affair with Jason Battle.
