That's probably a tough one for me to answer from home. Unless you're at the game I don't think you can give a fair assessment of a CB since most of the time they're out of camera range besides the few times the WR they're covering is targeted. He was credited with 2 tackles but I do remember one play where his man caught the ball and had it been a regular season game the WR probably would have slipped his solo tackle opposed to the quick preseason whistle.

wow! the mere fact that he got invited back to training camp is excellent news to me! much less playing in the first preseason game. dude is an undrafted free agent and nfl teams don't automatically invite undrafted free agents to training camp. so its a good sign that the ravens were impressed enough with olatoye at rookie training camp to invite him back to the team's official training camp.
let's just hope olatoye shows well and even if he doesn't make the ravens, he can still get picked up by somebody else. just having "ravens" on your resume' as a defensive player carries a lot of weight...

Isles played last night. He didn't do himself any favors though. Although he blocked well, he got called for illegal procedure twice in a row in the 4th qtr when the Seahawks were driving in for a score.

i watched the replay of the ravens vs. 49ers game and olatoye did a pretty decent job. he played most of the 2nd half but unfortunately, the first time his name got mentioned by the tv announcers he got called for a 5 yard illegal use of hands penalty. however, he did a pretty good job after that. he made 2 very good "open field" tackles in the 3rd quarter. he came up and hit a receiver at the line of scrimmage without allowing the guy to pick up any additional yards after the catch. i always knew olatoye was a very good tackler.
i haven't watched the 4th quarter yet, but it felt good seeing an aggie on tv playing in the nfl again. i think olatoye will have a chance to at least make the ravens practice squad, if not the active 53 man roster...

Iles looked like he got bigger and the coach did not look to happy about those 2 illegal procedures.

Olatoye he looked good against the 49ers, he looked like he "belonged". the ravens will be playing the dallas cowboys next, gotta make sure i record that game so that i can keep an eye on olatoye. i really think he has a shot to make the ravens practice squad or even better, the 53 man active roster...

What happen to our other DB last year he did punt return too. Cannot remember his name. I sure haven't seen anything about D'Vonte Graham getting any invites. Interesting side note, the athletic website listed Graham at 5'9 180lbs in 2012 and 5'7 160lbs in 2013. It is probably challenging to get any looks at DB based on the 2013 listed size.

It is probably challenging to get any looks at DB based on the 2013 listed size. just my opinion, but i think graham's 2013 size listing is more accurate than the 2012 listing. i think the thing about graham (other than his size) that is unattractive to nfl scouts is that he doesn't "tackle" well, he's not very "physical". but the very first thing i noticed about olatoye when he first played for us is that he would definitely "pop" your azz. i think olatoye is much more physical than graham, not to mention he has better size for the nfl as well. i think graham is a lot faster than olatoye and most of his accolades came from "big play" returns, via interceptions or kick returns. whereas olatoye went relatively unnoticed in that regard, but he covers well, he has good size, and he's "physical" which bodes well for a chance to make the nfl...
