Do you think that A&t can help it's recruiting of Athletes if we offer them to play two sports?
I ask this question becasue a lot kids would love to play two sports if they are good in both. ex. Football and basketball or Volleyball and Women's Basketball or Softball
Like Qb-SG - Ben Garrett P-PF - Monty Kee
I also heard that QB Rico Watkins wanted to play basketball real bad but Coach Small would not let him.

I think winning and improving our grad rates would help more than anything.
What appeals to you more?: “Hey boy, if you come here you can play two sports and one of them might be competitive” or “We graduate over 80% of our players and campus-wide the graduation percentage is in the 70s. We are also nationally competitive and regularly ranked in the top 25 in your sport.”?
I can’t blame Small. Rico couldn’t even halfway play qb. He needed to devote his time to learning the position. I also don’t know if his grades were high enough for him to have earned the privilege of playing two sports.
Ben Garrett played two sports. Did he graduate? At least I think Monte graduated.
My personal opinion is that we make entirely too much out of trying to get “athletes” and not nearly enough out of trying to get students and coaches that can teach them how to execute and win.
My ultimate opinion is if a kid can handle it academically he should be able to play whatever a coach wants to let him. I think that's as far as that offer should go.

Today's college sports requires year round training. You would have to be a superstar on the field and in the class room to have any hopes of doing both. He or she would be lucky to graduate in 6 years.

i know that most of the better basketball players stop playing football early in their high school career....it's just too demanding, both academically and physically....in reality, most two sport players in high school are football players who play basketball, and not vice versa....

Key graduated with honors and was an Academic All American. as well as an AllAmerican punter.
Those graduation rates will have as much clout as to whether a coach stays or goes as much as the win-loss ratio since the NCAA is penalizing programs by yanking grants from any sport that falls below the line academically.
Hampton, SCSU, FAMU, and Morgan all lost grants in football last year and may again this year fo poor academic performance of its athletes.

Ben should've focused on basketball. He was much better on the court.

Did Monte run track? ? You thinkin bout Montay Wilds. He ran track and played football for a year. He lives around the corner from me, he currently is running a bunch of group homes.
