We aren't where we need to be, but in just 2 years under Broadway, we've beaten every MEAC program that has been on our schedule. FAMU, BCU, SCSU, NCCU, Norfolk State, Howard, Morgan St, Delaware St - they've all been beaten by Broadway.
Only Hampton and Savannah St haven't played Broadway, thus avoiding the inexorable beatdown the Aggies would have placed on both.
We're getting there. I'm still not pleased with some of the stuff I see, but the fact that we've beaten every MEAC program we've faced in 2 years speaks to the fact that A&T is now at the table.
2013 - Not only are we at the table, we get the big piece of MEAC chicken ;D

Here here! I agree. I really believe that Coach will get it right. The Aggie Nation is buzzing today. We won ugly today. Really we have lost games in a way that upset me, not becaus of a blow-out, but because we were right there. Like last year too....

Based on my math, a win against those buzzards will result in us finishing 3rd in the Meac with a record of 5-3(meac) and 7-4(overall). This will put us ahead of the buzzards as their record will be 5-3(meac) and 6-5(overall). In other words.....This game is HUGE....EPIC even!!!

It will also put us ahead of the loser of the Howard vs Deleware State game!

I am most impressed with Broadway's evaluation of the team each year. He has done what he said he would do each year; this year he said were going to beat some teams but we still got to get better. He is backing up everything he says; not just talk.

I'm excited that we have a chance to beat all our major MEAC rivals this year: NSU, Howard, SC State and NCCU.

I see progress, but this year's record might be an anomaly. This was probably the worst FAMU, SCSU and NSU teams I have seen in the last 10 years. We won those games simply because we kept the score close and gave the opponents enough time to self destruct ... and they were always happy to oblige.
Our offense has gotten progressively worse in every game since VUL and now I believe Lewis Kindle's confidence is totally shot.
The defense this season is legit but I don't see anything on the offensive side of the ball we can build on for next year.

2014 will be the wear we win this conference. Next year with the right schedule, we will win about 7-9 games with a stagnant offense.

I'll take this season no matter how bad the other teams are. I hope the are just as bad next year; I agree the offense needs work. I'm sure that's something Broadway has his eye on.

The future is bright. We have our two best receivers in Gorham and Bullock back along with Ricky Lewis. I still believe we have two good qb's in Kindle & Quick; it's just gonna take some off season work to get them in sync. The thing I dread most is no spring practice because they will need it the most. With losing so many defensive players we'll need the offense to step up next season. Also on a positive note we'll be adding about 20 more scholarships!

Also on a positive note we'll be adding about 20 more scholarships! Is that automatic, or dependent on good news?

Is it definite there will be no spring practice? Or is will it be reevaluated after grades come out?

Also on a positive note we'll be adding about 20 more scholarships! Is that automatic, or dependent on good news? The NCAA awarded our full 63 back in May but Broadway didn't have enough time to fulfill at that point. If we don't have a full compliment then it will be by our own hands.

To me, FAMU, SCSU and NSU being bad may is more a reflection of the old guard in the MEAC getting old. Taylor's gone. Pough keeps doing things the same way, which the MEAC now understands. Pete Adrian had one spectacular year, but he has been average for the past 8-9 years. This has a lot to do with MEAC powers getting stale and new regimes (NCCU, BCU, A&T, Del St) proving their value. The offense......I've been vocal all year about this so I won't start another thread to hash out my more-than-valid concerns. It still doesn't change the fact that we're moving up the MEAC ladder. And frankly, based on the stubbornness MEAC programs exhibit when it comes to making changes, I think A&T's upward climb will continue over these next few years.

You wonder how can an offense only score 1 touchdown with more than 400 yards in total offense. More than 250 yards on the ground and 150 passing (50%) yardage. Is it due to execution (especially quarterbacks), play calling or coaching errors??? Can one of you aficionados give some idea as to why the offense seems to be at a stand still or stagnant??? It appears that the sometimes maligned kicker will be the leading scoring this year.
Oh, an observation. The best receivers are freshmen (by a long shot). Defense is super.
