I see you didn't actually ask Renick anything when you took a picture with him.
The bottom line is there was crap that was done quite wrong (hence the paying of numerous people who were wrongfully terminated under Renick's watch, among other things). I haven't heard a thing about defamation lawsuits, but hey, doesn't mean there weren't any.
That being typed, there was also a "witch hunt" that occured as a direct result of people catching feelings because they were left with egg on their face. They "fell" for Renick's charisma and didn't do their own fact-checking, and then got mad at him instead of themselves. Had they just talked to the man and re-steered him on certain issues, it wouldn't have been a problem.

Can we speed this conversation up about 10 years or so?
How do we think Martin compares to Renick?
I think we have the right man for the job now but it never hurts to speculate.
BTW if Renick is as die hard an Aggie as we all agree is he on BDV? I think he probably is.

Most school officials, current and past, frequent this site.

Yeah and an athletic program into mud! I just don't think as much about him as some of you do. I prefer the Martin type; leave athletics to the AD.

If you think Martin ain't pulling strings behind the scenes , i got a bridge to sell you.
Martin is calling the shots...... Look at the hiring of Broadway as an example

That's fine the difference is Martins strings he is pulling are the right ones. I guess he knows what he is doing unlike Ren.

Trueaggie, it's evident that you did not know Renick, you are just going on what you have heard. You know the saying about everything you hear. It's also evident that a lot more people on here did not know him either. People will believe whatever they want, so be it!!

Bigboy; I did not know Renick and I understand people liked him. Regardless what I know is under his watch football went from a powerhouse to bottom of the cellar; basketball didn't fair much better. I came to A&T in 81 and with Renick I saw ten years of misery. Like my boss said "we can drink and have a good time, but if you can't hit your numbers I can't do nothing for you. Bottom line I will never like what Renick did to Aggie athletics.

When Renick was here, A&T won two MEAC titles in football and a BCF national championship .... but don't let facts get in the way of your argument.

BTW: Stadium lights, the new field house, the Olympic caliber track, the new athletic logo and the best scoreboard in the MEAC all happened on his watch. Not to mention the hiring of the greatest women's basketball coach in the history of the school.
But don't let those mere details impact your assessment.

Yeah one with Hayes and one with players he left; we went through to many coaches to maintain a solid program. You are right he should have stuck with facilities and stayed away from athletics.

A&T would have received all of those campus upgrades without Renick. The truth of the matter is Renick is solely responsible for lowering admission standards which is one of the reasons we are in this APR mess now!
