Private ownership gives us proprietary rights over the site, the right to establish any and all rules of operation and that includes who and how a person may participate on the message boards, ownership of all copyrighted material, and the list goes on and on.
In both the shortest and simplest terms possible - since we own it we control it.

Finally. I just asked a simple question about First Amendment Rights and the two most know it all's on this site went off. They have to be heard all the time as if they are the supreme and most knowledgeable person who respond on this site.

your freedoms are only right until they infringe on the rights of others. Like Slander - you have the right to say something, but like another poster said, be prepared to deal with the consequences. Ther are plenty of private operations that restrict your rights; either you abide by the rules or find somewhere else that has the rules in place that you agree with.
