So if dad's not coaching A&T son is not coming? WHAT IS THIS BLACKMAIL!! I say GOOD Get To Stepping!!! You don't black mail AGGIES they black mail You>> Of course he wont. Would you go to a school that just fired your dad? LOL. I never seen him play, so I have no idea if he would help or not. If we dont get a legit big man it wont matter anyway. Not trying to be funny but if we get his son AND a big man (remember Coleman) he has proven that he will do nuthin to change his "Mr. less than .500 in MEAC" or "Mr..500 in MEAC" title that he currently holds on to the bitter end.

Eaves' son is a very good player. He will be recrited by some big programs, he's that good. Evaes' does have 2 big men sitting out this year and will join the team next season. I guess that all depend on whether Evaes is fired or not, as to whether they stay at A&T or not. I know one thing, I have been with A&T through thick and thin and that will never change. Whether I hate the coach or not won't change that. I attend games because of the love for my school and the student athletes. I understand everyone's frustrations, but it is still A&T no matter what the situation. You can call it "blind loyalty" or something else, but I will hang in there with them.

No one's jumping the Aggie ship Bigboy ---- but the current captain needs to walk the plank. There's simply too much losing to sweep under the rug any further.....and I'm not talking about losing to the big money schools. We've lost 5 of 6 MEAC games, Central has swept us, Campbell has beat us by 28, NAIA Carver Bible College takes us to overtime.....
It's year 9 - he's already had 8 years of excuses to fall back on. I was ready for him to kick rocks a few years back. It's even worse now than before.
I recognize and appreciate everyone's loyalty to Aggie basketball; but that doesn't mean we have to be content with subaverage basketball, even on the MEAC scale. This should not be accepted by anyone one day further.....
If Hilton and Martin decide to keep Eaves for next year, I will also have problems with them. They're at the games - they see how ineffective we've been. For them to even consider giving this man one more year after this crappy of a season would be an insult to my and other Aggies' intelligence. For them to expect us to stomach more losing basketball is no longer acceptable.....

Eaves may be a crappy coach and I also hate losing, but I will still attend the games and continue to buy season tickets because of the name on the jersey not because of who is coaching. I understand where everyone is coming from when it come to the losing, but I still fill compelled to support the student athletes no matter what. Even if we get a new coach we will probably have to hang in there with him and some losing until he can bring in some good players and get us back on the winning track. This whole thing is a mess!! God help us!!

Hey Naborhood, I'm with you. I cannot believe that A&T has put up with this level of poor performance so long. I realize when every sports program is suffering the university made a decision not to make a change to the mens basketball program. I understand that when everything is bad, why not at least stick with a coach that runs a money-making clean program. I acknowledge that Eaves made money and graduated his kids. But those are the "2nd" and "3rd" priorities of a coach. The number #1 priority is to win games. And Eaves failed job one!
Now I love A&T as much as the next guy on this site but to continue to support a program that obviously needs fixing now is not loyalty, it's crazy. We owe it to the kids to get them a coach that can improve their skills and win. Hell I played on a losing team in high school and all I learned was how little the administration cared about the team. So let's not get confused...Eaves has to go if this program is going to get better.

Now that is interesting. Last time i checked athletes are students, and the job , mission , and purpose of North Carolina A&T is to graduate it students. Interesting that winning is more important.
Not saying that Eaves is anything , my point is for you to say winning is #1 and everything is secondary is shameful.

I will agree that retaining and graduating players is the #1 priority. Perhaps MB1969 meant everything else after that?

WHY DON'T EVERYONE COOL OUT INCLUDING MYSELF AND WAIT UNTIL AFTER THE MEAC TOURNAMENT IS OVER. I KNOW THE BASKETBALL PLAYER'S READ THIS SITE AND ALL WE DO IS TALK JUNK ABOUT THEM AND THE COACH AND HIS STAFF. WE ARE KILLING THEIR CONFIDENCE BY ALL OF THE NEGATIVE VIBES COMING FROM THIS SITE.
THE ADMINISTRATION IS GOING TO DO WHAT THEY WANT TO DO ANYWAY SO CHILL OUT FOR A 'MINUTE'. THE CHANCELLOR AND HILTON BOTH ALREADY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO IN REGARDS TO COACH EAVES. CHILL AND SUPPORT THE TEAM WITH POSITIVE VIBES AND MAYBE THEY WILL START WINNING AGAIN.

I agree sidewiner we should support the fellas and as has been said, no one wants the team to lose any game.
Criticism comes with the territory. There are hundreds of fan sites across the country that do what we do on a national level. You cant curtail free speech. At this level, this is nothing compared to the ridicule they will face as a professional athletes. Look at the microscope we put NBA teams under, even in the off season. There are also plenty of examples where opposition is used to fuel victory.
I dont think BDV treats Football any differently.

I agree Sidewiner. We are dealing with student athletes and not professional athletes. The pros can handle criticism better than college kids. We should be doing everything in our power to support our kids.
If you want to criticize somebody - criticize the administration for condoning this coaching staff that has being doing the same o same o for 9 years with the same results. I am beginning to wonder about them (A D & Chancellor). Can't you all see and don't you all understand that the majority of the Aggie Fans want a basketball change. Damn, what part of "don't won't" do yall don't understand.
If I was a coach and I got as many negative statements about me as I read on BDV I would not want to continue coaching at this school anyway.

I agree to disagree : . If a little Criticism hurts your game, then you shouldn't be playing College BB any way. This is nothing compared to the ridicule they will face if they were in the Big 12, ACC,Pac 12,Big East are any college level BB program. Come on man we support the student athletes but being a Student Athlete dosen't give you a pass!! When My $ are paying your way. I can careless about the coach in this case (Eaves) Because I already know that he is on his why out!!! But when the Athletes get out their and play with Heart THEY WILL ALWAYS GET MY SUPPORT. BUT WHEN THEY PLAY LIKE THE DON'T GIVE A (S) !! THEY SHOULD BE CRITICIZED!!. Some of you that think the a student athlete is just a Kid forget that too. They are simipro Athletes!! They are being paid to play Ball and be good students in the class room, and that Ball Playing and class work pays for their Education!!! Now if any young man on the BB are any team that can't handle Criticism are being criticize by somebody, YOU MAY NEED TO RETHINK HOW YOUR GOING TO PAY FOR YOU EDUCATION ARE LIVE YOUR LIFE, BECAUSE IT'S COMES WITH THE TIMES.

I'm with Saabman. Have you guys talked to these athletes? A message board has ZERO effect on their confidence or play. He is also right in that other conferences get way more scrutiny than ours. They should be criticized. If they couldn't take it then they wouldn't have even made it to college on a scholarship. I know high school kids that can take worse things that anyone on here has said and would go out and still put up 30 points or rush for 150 yards.
The funny part is that yall have it backwards. Talking about a player will only motivate a good player or have no effect. But talking about a player's coach will divide a team and destroy moral amongst the team as a whole. Everyone who's played should know that. So all the Eaves bashing or the last 2 years I GUARANTEE has hindered the teams growth more than anything someone has said about a player.
What I dont like is the daily rants about non-sense that can discredit your voice. When people think they know what Coaches are thinking or they know what Hilton is thinking. No real facts, just constant badgering of whomever. That goes for the guys that bash administration as well as those that bash coaches.
I think people should comment on what they see with their own eyes and leave all the speculation alone. For example, where did all this contract restructuring rumors come from?(rhetorical question, please dont answer). People are up in arms about it and saying if "this" and if "that". Its a waste of breathe. Only Hilton and a very select few know what Eaves fate is at the end of the season. The only thing I'm sure about is its probably already decided based on the MEAC tournament finish and its NOTHING anyone on here can say thats going to change it.

This forum is one of the few ways we have to voice our opinions because both the chancellor and AD reads it from time to time. Heck, one of the things I liked about our last AD, Wheeler Brown is that he would occasionally respond to us directly based on the information or misinformation he read on this message board. This is a medium for them to know what's on our minds so we dont't need to hold back comments. Hopefully the more vehemntly we protest, the more they develop a sense of urgency to take action after the season. Silence only condones the status quo.

I'm definitely not saying to stay quiet. I'm just saying that when speaking people should at least sound like they aren't just rambling over and over and over again. People start to tune out. There's a lot of this when it comes to Aggie Basketball. I hated the hell out of Coach Lee when he was here(probably just as much as some hate Eaves), but I let my thoughts be known without sounding like a madman. He only lasted 2 years. There's ways to get stuff accomplished. Over the top rants is not one.
