Yep, yep....Funky B is already on the move for 2013. rivals.yahoo.com/highschool/football/recruiting/player-Ebenezer-Ogundeko-136416We are the first to offer this young man from Nigeria. Now, the Big East teams and Penn State are showing interest. I doubt if we get him but hopefully he will remember who offered first when it’s time to sign or transfer. But, who knows..…he hasn’t committed yet. Another interesting this to watch is his non existent star rating, which will begin to rise as teams such as Penn State and the likes begin to recruit him. I'm beginning not to place a lot of stock in star ratings. insider.espn.go.com/blog/ncfrecruiting/east/post?id=2271&action=login&appRedirect=http%3a%2f%2finsider.espn.go.com%2fblog%2fncfrecruiting%2feast%2fpost%3fid%3d2271Ogundeko makes mother proud with BCS offer February, 13, 2012 Feb 13 By Jared Shanker PHILADELPHIA -- Every player has his own motivation. For Ebenzer Ogundeko, it is to make his mother’s move to America worth it in his eyes. “My mom is from Nigeria,” Ogundeko (Brooklyn, N.Y./Thomas Jefferson) said, “and the main reason she came to America was to bring me and my brothers to get up to school. Our goal was to get a [football] scholarship to go to a school.” On Friday, Syracuse became the first FBS program to offer Ogundeko, who already held an offer from North Carolina A&T.

I've always like the concept of offering no matter what, even if the kid is an obvious FBS prospect. They remember that stuff.
Just to give some insight of how Star ratings work. I know the guy who is in charge of Star ratings for NC basketball players, but it works the same way for football. ONE person, yes, just ONE person is responsible for giving out star ratings for a state or region. They base them off 3 things: 1) What they see with there own eyes. If a kid had a great game in front of this guy his star just went up 1. Same if he had a bad game. He may drop.
2) Coaches input, especially opposing coaches. They try not to listen to the players coach, but they informally talk to other coaches within the conference about a player. If other coaches dont really know him then the star rating takes a hit. They know the area so they know what coaches exaggerate and how much.
3) Combine stats from official combines. You cant ignore a 4.4. Combine numbers are what prompts him to do #1 and #2.
So a lot of kids go under the radar and is the reason I dont really trust low star ratings. High ratings are normally correct. If a kid is good then he is good, but low ones you definitely cant dismiss because one guy cant see everything.
Dave Telep, the guy who does NC basketball doesn't miss a lot, but he does miss some kids. He is the guy that EVERY college bball coach recruiting NC should know. I dont currently know the person/s for football, but they are relatively easy to find out if your paying attention.
Here is the scale that they use: Five-star player: 85 to 100 A potential immediate game-changer at the major college level who could push for all-conference recognition as a true freshman. Will enter college with elite skills needed to create mismatches against top-level competition. A future All-American candidate.
Four-star player: 79.5 to 84.99 A potential 3- to 4-year starter at the major college level with the superior skills needed to see early playing time and make a significant impact during his college career.
Three-star player: 75.0 to 79.49(kids that FCS programs try and target) A player with the skills to develop into a solid starter at the major college level. Potential high-ceiling prospect with the ability to make an impact during his career.
Two-star player: 68 to 74.99 A player who flashes developable major college talent and could be a late bloomer. Potential solid starter at the mid-major level.
One-star player: 55 to 67.9 Player does not show the physical tools or skill set at this point to project at the major college level, but could contribute at DivII programs.

Funky B has erased any doubts that I had a year ago about....."I'm wondering does he still have the fire and the passion that it takes to get us back to the top?" You know some coaches get burned out after a while.
I think he has answered the bell and is on a mission!!!
:"B"-----keep it going man!!!!!

With national signing day a week away, Old Dominion has added three new verbal commitments, including one from a North Carolina running back who rushed for 2,405 yards and 35 touchdowns as a senior.
Malik Moseley, a 5-foot-11, 195-pounder from Southern Guilford High in suburban Greensboro, N.C., committed to ODU on Wednesday. Moseley, who rejected offers from Appalachian State, Howard and North Carolina Central, committed after visiting ODU last weekend.
The school also reaped the first fruit from its recent recruiting push into Florida. Eric Hampson, a 6-5, 315-pound offensive tackle from Pinellas Park High in Largo, Fla., rejected offers from Ohio, Albany and Elon to commit to ODU after visiting last weekend.
Southern Guilford runs a spread offense that is usually pass-oriented, but relied more on the run last season because of Moseley. Coach Darryl Brown said Moseley will fit right into ODU's pass-oriented attack.

Kinston routs Tarboro
Keyes was a perfect 7 for 7 in the first half, six of which were dunks. He hit his first 10 shots before missing his first attempt in the fourth quarter.
Keyes, who will sign with N.C. A&T University this morning, was 11 for 14 from the field and had a team-high eight rebounds.
