The center for S C State today is from Greensboro. She is 6'2' and played high school ball at Southeast High. She played a decent game until she fouled out late in the game. Why do we have to go all the way around the world to find players and they are here in our backyard. The female Player of the Year and MVP in the State Finals last year is going to Campbell college next year along with one of her co players from Southwest Guilford High. They won the 4 A Championship last year and may do so again this year. How can Campbell college get these two players right in our backyard. The young lady who was Player of the Year last year is averaging over 20 points a game again this year. She is what we needed. Just can't understand missing players in our neighborhood. Damn!! campbell always get in-state talent... but the last time the ladies played campbell we blew them off the floor...!!!!... so i don't really see your point... its not like we don't have kids from nc on the squad... injuries effects how seasons will turn out... if you don't know how to factor that into the equation...well then you just don't know...

Not that i don't think she is a good coach but she has won, 1 MEAC title since she has been here. I hear no one comment on the constant turnover in our women's team nor their academic issues. Just be nice if we called it far across the board

INTENSITY BEGINS WITH THE COACH TRUE STATEMENT.

Truthseeker my point is that we are letting talented players right here in the area get away to other colleges and universities. I don't remember us playing Campbell in a basketball game in the past. If we did and won that was then and this is now.
Campbell is trying to build their program as we are. I think it is just careless on our coaching staff to let high caliber players get away. I can see if they sign with Duke or Carolina and we did not get them. But Campbell, that is ridiculous. They should never out recruit us especially when the talent is 10 to 15 miles away.
In state scholarships or less expensive than out of state. Not trying to be funny but some of those out of state scholarships given out were a waste of time. So, why by pass a player here with better skills.
UNC - Charlotte entire roster was from North Carolina. One girl was from Greensboro. Get my drift.

Are you sure we "by passed" the local player or is that an assumption? UNCC's roster tells me how hard it is for us recruit NC.

There isn't enough talent in NC to go around for NC Div I schools. UNCC has 6 NC guys out of 14. 3 are from Charlotte and we don't know who is is on scholarship or partial scholarship.
The top NC talent goes to major BCS schools and what's left are pickings off the bone. There are hardly any Curry-type boys and girls out there in NC who ends up at mid-majors (Seth is now at Duke) and the Curry boys had an involved NBA father to guide them.
This is not the 1980's anymore or early 1990's in NC.
To win in Division I, the whole university and alumni have to be aligned, have plan and actually go into action to have win a winning program.
And contrary to the stupid assertions, there are not a lot of coaches to be had that will win the MEAC basketball conference and tournament with A&T's current situation. This doesn't mean that a coach wouldn't be able to win a tourney game.

It is no assumption that this player was not approached by our coaching staff. She is not the only talent in our neighborhood who has not been approached. Coach Bibbs has great credential and should not have any trouble recruiting against UNCC or any other institution.
We simply don't go after top talent because we figure we can't get them. We should never be out recruited by the likes of Campbell, UNCW, UNCA, Elon, High Point, Coastal Carolina and the like.

Aggie Jazz we were not talking about the men's basketball program. However, I get your drift. Contrary to your assertions that my statements are stupid I beg to differ. I am not the only person with this opinion.
Coach Bibbs is 6 games away from 500 victories. You don't win that many games on luck. That means she can coach and she should use her resume to recruit local talent that is going to other schools and coming back to haunt us.
If we try to recruit them and don't succeed - that is another story. However, if we don't try at all that is no excuse.

Bibbs has 2 big girls sitting out this year. They will be with the team next season. Both are 6'2". One is the young lady from Columbia S.C. (can't remember her name), and from what I am told she is very good. I have seen her on campus but have not seen her play. She looks like a legit player, just by her size. And speaking of the big girl for SCSU from Greensboro, Bibbs tried to recruit her but she chose SCSU. Some of these kids just want to leave home when picking a college.

krazykev do you have any proof that we try to get good local talent to come to our university? I doubt it. Name me 10 girls that were approached and went elsewhere. You don't have to give me the entire name. You can't do it can ya.
Look, I am only stating what some others are saying and thinking but don't come on this site to express it. The truth hurts don't it krazykev.

Is Coach Bibbs at 498 right now? I think she will get 500 against NCCU on Saturday. All it takes is 4 good nights in Winston Salem.
