He's headed for the offensive backfield for Broadway as an H-Back. Hendersonville's McMinn commits to NC A&T on full ride Mon. January 23, 2012 at 11:24 p.m. | By Brittany Jackson On a football team loaded with talent, it was just a matter of time before the offers started rolling in at the next level. And Hendersonville’s AJ McMinn is the first to get the ball rolling. McMinn announced Saturday evening that he has verbally committed to play football at North Carolina A&T State University in the fall. The program offered him a full athletic scholarship at his official visit with the Aggies in mid-January, and after finishing up his remaining official visits with other colleges, McMinn decided on NC A&T. “First and foremost, AJ is the kid who did things the right way; he did it right in the classroom, behavior-wise and citizen-wise, and it’s just good to see a kid like that have this pan out for him. Full rides are hard to come by nowadays. I’m proud of him. He’s got a lot of character,” said HHS head football coach BJ Laughter. That character is part of what Laughter relied on during the season, and not just on the field for a big run or block. “For four years in my program, he did not miss a practice nor was he late for a practice, which is unheard of,” Laughter said. “He showed leadership by action. AJ is a doer, not a guy with a lot of lip service, and he wasn’t a finger-pointer, didn’t have a hothead. He remained calm in adverse situations. He kept everyone’s head in the game; he’s just a solid leader.” Here are some highlights of McMinn on both offense and defense his senior and junior years. This guy is one a hell of an athlete. www.hudl.com/athlete/299364/aj-mcminnathletevault.com/index.php?id=4551 For the rest of the story: preps.blueridgenow.com/news/article/29693/hendersonvilles-mcminn-commits-to-nc-at-on-full-ride/

If these DL can remain with us, Broadway added much needed depth to the defensive front 7.

From Sharpless - a big shout out to him on this news!!!According to his twitter page, little speedster (4.4) Marquis Gorham, Ath of Greenville Rose just committed. Named 2012 NC AP All State as the state’s top kick returner. I think his size kept the bigs away (hopefully not grades) but he should do well on the FCS level.Scout.com 2012 WR/CB/KR Marquis Gorham (5’8/175) - Although Gorham is undersized; there was nothing small about his performance. The Rampants’ senior was unstoppable. He finished the game with 441 yards of all-purpose yards. The jack of all trades had 140 yards receiving and 3 touchdowns. He also rushed for 80 yards and had a 92 interception return for a touchdown. Gorham is a legit 4.4 guy, who has no offers. That will change soon. He is tremendous player and someone will get a “steal” on signing day. www.scoutingcarolina.com/index.ph....ofile&user=1743www.youtube.com/watch?v=eO-rqJEdEzk&feature=youtu.betwitter.com/#!/TouchdownGorham www.nationalunderclassmen.com/Vie....TCLID=204985009
