school.....all I can say is I am not the only one who has been in the ear hole(s) of admin (not complaining but "consulting" ;D) so that we try to come outta this dark hole we are in. Just like you I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. Everything that has happened for the last 10+ years needs to be re-vamped (except for Bibbs + Funky B---the jury is still out on WVB +Baseball ). As far as promotions I was told new things were on the way and head(s) will roll.

All of this innuendo is nice but without names, its merely hearsay.

I've been told it won't be long and I can not say any more than I've already said.
We'll just have to go w/that but I know what I'm talking bout.
I have no reason to spread unfounded rumors.

school....I definitely feel your intense pain!
Have you ever thought about letting Martin or Hilton know how you really feel?

school....I definitely feel your intense pain! Have you ever thought about letting Martin or Hilton know how you really feel? actually, i have thought about emailing them. but i just figured my one email would go unnoticed. however, now i'm getting to the point where i'm almost ready to throw the towel in. its as if i've been waiting forever for us to win an meac championship in anything, but it seems we keep moving further and further away...

school......U might wanna give it a try. U won't be the only one who is going to the ears of the decision-makers.
This is how we can make a difference. We have nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain. In reality, we have dropped to the bottom of a bottomless pit.
As I used as an example previously, we, as a people, have the tendency to think, "I ain't gonna vote because it is just one vote and it ain't gonna make a difference...it's just one vote. Not saying that you or anybody else on here does not vote but it can be the "mind set" when you think a single call, e-mail, or letter will not make a difference.
Frank McCain (A&T Four) said, "be the change".
A&T taught me not "what to think, but how to think". Brother man, you are concerned about what is happening. Your voice does count but only if it is directed to the folks who make the decisions. Trust----GO AGGIES

Sidebar: "Be the change" is an excerpt from Gandhi's quote: "You must be the change you want to see in the world."

Capt......true dat Gandhi was the originator but Aggie Frank McCain refers to that phrase in most of his speeches. In essence, don't talk about BE about it!!!

We're good. Just want the family to understand the quote's origin if they decide to use it.
Back to basketball. ;D

FYI, Both Martin and Hilton are very approachable. I don't have a problem with e-mails, but if there is something that truly bothers me to the core, I like face-to-face communication. It's not difficult at all to talk with them during a break in a game. I've done it numerous times.

star.........You are 100% rite about Martin and Hilton. I know you have stepped to them because you mentioned that previously. However, for those that do not have acess to direct contact.... e-mail, call, or letter is the best alternative. I'm infrequent in da 'boro but I have done the face-to-face and through the above mentioned methods. I have been around long enough to know when to agitate and when to "consult" . In otherwords, if they see me coming that do not "go the other way". Thanks for stepping up!!

My only suggestion would be....the people that we put in positions to make decisions and lead, give them the total autonomy to do just that. Don't get rid of Eaves then bring in another coach and tie his hand behind his back and tell him to go out there and win us some championships. I think that's the "bass-akwards" train of thought that has literally choked the life out of most of the athletic programs. We continually practice this behavior/train of thought. If Dr. Martin and Mr. Hilton are serious about turning athletics around like you guys say...then that will have to be the approach. Get a coach that loves his/her craft, provide he/she proper amount of resources to be competitive and allow them to coach the way he/she sees fit. That's the only way it will get turned around.

I would much rather us find a talented coach than buy a talented coach. I would love for this search to be a real thorough look in all areas of possibility. We can only get slightly worse buy marginally better. This is a perfect time to find a coach that has the Maynor mindset in regard to being able to do great things with small resources.
Alot of times we attract people with a carrot, we need to show them whats expected before they see what they will get.

Our program gets far more resources than Carver Bible College. It's time to stop it with the excuses and start holding folks accountable.

I would encourage everybody to contact Dr. Martin, or Mr. Hilton with your concerns. I've found both to be receptive to discussing Alumni concerns. These two men have a vested interest in the success of the University’s Athletic Programs and take their responsibilities very serious. Dr. Martin has a much fuller plate and there is generally a line to queue through to get an audience. Mr. Hilton willingly responds to emails. In both cases, I suggest you have your facts straight if you expect to have a tangible dialogue and be ready to express how you can help.
