Jerry Eaves..........It is time you stop impersonating as a college head basketball coach. We support our school but you have had enough time. Please resign immediately. Please accept WHATEVER pay out you can get and stop embarrassing yourself and your reputation. Stats and quotes sent to me this morning by my boy: NC A&T-20 total rebs--team leader F/C Demetrious Upchurch-4 rebs Campbell-50 total rebs "I'm disappointed because we played so well for 30 minutes. We just have to fix the last 10 minutes because I truly thought we were going to win the game at the 10 minute mark", said Jerry "less than ..500 in MEAC" Eaves. Man, you lost by 28 f**ckin points to CAMPBELL!!! We don't wanna hear that b*llshit. YOU ARE KILLING US!!!!!! You thought you were gonna win the game at the 10 minute mark of the second half and you ended up losing by 28 points? You can't continue to disrespect AGGIE NATION with that con talk (with your good con talking azzzzz)!! We are up on you Jerry!! Last year you rode on the shoulders on Coleman to a .500 in MEAC season. You recruited no one last yera AND this year to take his place. Your tallest starter is 6'7" AND you can't coach a chamionship or contending team on the college level.! 8 years, 8 years!!!! You can't fool errrrrrbody Jerry! Man, for real, for real....you ain't gots to go home my man but you gots to go away from here!!!! Be a man!!!

Now that Dr. Martin has the football program back on track, I'm sure he's got plans for the basketball program. Jerry is bad but we can't afford to fire him and eat his contract. So, we are stuck with him this year. I don't plan to waste my time and money attending any mens basketball games until he's gone. Let me know if he turns things around.

I don't think he should be fired. Financially that would be a nightmare. Reassignment seems to be the best option. He is reportedly very good at negotiating guarantee games. You don't want to lose that, you just want to lose him from the sidelines.
Hopefully if he resigns, is fired, reassigned, whatever, we will find a good replacement. There's no point in losing somebody just to get somebody who is not better.

No doubt. We all know our history or hiring Coaches is bad. In ten years we probably got it right twice Bibbs and recently with Broadway. And I guess Shumate.
But Martin / Hilton certainally got the most important one correct. Even though our history shows otherwise I think with have to trust the current admin if it comes to that. And there are capable people out there that would readly accept this position. Lets not kid ourselevs about there being capable people out there who could suceed here.

I'd reassign him to the janitorial position. Who's the dude that mops the floor at halftime? Give that job to Eaves.
If Chicago State beats us at home tomorrow night, have Phillip Stitt take over the team until the end of the year. I am sick to my stomach, losing by 30 points to Campbell. It's one thing to lose to UNC, Duke or State by 30 ---- but freakin Campbell.

MR. CHANCELLOR AND A D HILTON ... ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE GET RID OF THIS NO COACHING MAN. HIS PROGRAM STINKS AND IT IS AN EMBARRASSMENT TO OUR HERITAGE IN BASKETBALL. HE HAS HAD ENOUGH TIME HERE AND HE HAS NOT PRODUCED. WE APPRECIATE SOME OF THE THINGS THAT HE HAS DONE FOR OUR PROGRAM. BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS WINS AND LOSSES AND WE HAVE HAD VERY FEW IMPORTANT WINS IN 8 OR 9 YEARS. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, PLEASE FIND US A COACH AS YOU DID IN FOOTBALL THAT CAN GET US BACK ON TRACK AS A DIVISION I TEAM INSTEAD OF A DIVISION II & III TEAM. NO ONE RESPECTS US IN BASKETBALL ANYMORE AND HAVE NOT FOR YEARS. IF YOU CAN FIRE A VERY EXCELLENT COACH AS DON CORBETT WHO WON 7 STRAIGHT CHAMPIONSHIPS IN THE MEAC - THEN IT SHOULD NOT BE A PROBLEM IN FIRING A MARGINAL COACH WITH A .495 - .500 AVERAGE IN THE MEAC. TIME FOR A CHANGE GENTLEMEN. Y0U WILL FIND THE MONEY TO GET A NEW COACH. THAT IS WHAT A D HILTON STATED THAT IT IS HIS JOB TO FIND THE MONEY. WELL, GET TO IT MR. HILTON AND GET US A REAL DIVISION I COACH. THANKS.

The disgruntled AAF masses are gathering steam. Sounds like a "Occupy Corbett Center" movement is beginning to take shape.

I'm not an Eaves supporter but do we really need to get rid of someone who is getting decent APR scores right now? I think I read an article earlier this year that said only A&T and Hampton would have qualified under the new guidelines?

Being realistic I think Coach Eaves has another year on his contract; and we dont have funds to buy out anyone or anything !!!Remember there is a reason we could not fund all of the football scholarship we were alloted regardles of APR penalty. FUNDING
That being said the only solution as naborhood suggested is to re-assign him and promote Stitt. I'd bet Eaves would resign before being re-assigned out of a coaching position. Coach Eaves is probably in a finacial position that he could make it just fine. In addition he would land fairly fast as an assitant coach.
If we get embarrased by Chicago State its possible if we loose to one of the other teams Johnson & Wales etc. it will be likely.

I was here when A&T won one game. I appreciate it that Eaves brought A&T from the dead to at most the middle, but i believe that this is the highest he can go. I don't believe that he can take the program to be one of the top 3 or 4 teams in the MEAC.

We all can agree it takes alot to be successful at an HBCU coaching any sport. There are more obstacles which require more than an average coach can handle. There are some excellent coaches at PWIs that wouldn't last a season at an HBCU.
Eaves is a decent coach and I have always thought he would star at a PWI, but in a setting like A&T we need a multi-dimensional coach and Eaves has already shown us all his cards.

I would not be opposed to him becoming the assistant AD. He may be better suited for a job as an administrator. But we'll wait and see. It's a long season.
