I feel much better about this game for 2 reasons.
First, is all you guys reports. If not for this site i would be going into the first game blind as a bat.
Second, is Fobbs words. Let me explain what that means. Go back and read his interviews prior to the 2006 season. He was full of doubt and never wanted to say that A&T was good or had a chance of winning. If someone can find me a quote where he said "I think we have a good chance of winning" then I'll be shocked. This year his enitre demeanor is a little different. He actually gets excited when talking football. As a coach sometime you just look back at your team, look across the field at their team and say "We bout to drag these fools". I think he sees that in some of his players this year. That eases my mind a little bit.
Oh, and 11yds per catch is easy to achieve with only 8 catches. You can do 5,5,5,2,2,5,3, and a 62 yard cornerback slip and average 11 yards per catch. It's just hilarious that they put it in there. Should have left off the number of receptions and yards part and just put he averages 11yds per catch. LOL, that's not even a catch a game.

our offense perked up the last game of the season.... but on the other hand wssu defense only allowed 10pts against bcc.... i haven't seen us practice yet but this is the test... the sat if you will... on our improvement...... blount is a good solid coach who has always worked with a small budget.... got to give him the nod.....

The reason we allowed so many points against B-CC is because Japan and the rest of the George Small boys quit - point blank. If you ever get a chance to look at the tape of that game, there were many scoring plays where our guys weren't even trying to tackle. Plus, Cambell lost his confidence something terrible and was throwing line drives into the ground for most of the second half.
That final margin of that Bethune game has to be looked at in the proper context.

Naw. The reason we allowed so many points to B-CC is because we hadn't been properly coached to stop the option and their walk-ons were faster at executing the plays than our starters. You can't tackle what you ain't near or can't catch. We also completely stopped executing after our opening drive. I actually thought for that one game the offensive game plan was excellent. But we were forced out of it because the defensive game plan was inexplicable.
Don't forget, we gave them over 50 points the year prior and I think the year prior to that as well. We haven't matched up well against them defensively for a while. This year we should match up better, and we have a score (well, 10 of them) to settle.

the only thing out of context in that game was us on the same field.... we have no clue on how to play against a wishbone team.... whats even worse is all a coach has to do is pull out some tape & look at bill hayes defensive schemes against bcc & elon (after that 1st thrashing).... why are coaches so stubborn & not borrow things from hayes staff that worked? people called hayes 3yds & a cloud of dust.... but against liberty we were primarily no-huddle the whole time .... had to be... because the no-huddle gave them fits.....

We have more than a score to settle. We need to give them a good old a$$ kicking.

What is the most important key to me in the first game is how many mistakes the Aggies will make during the game and not whether we win or lose. The number of mistakes is key because the Aggies have no open week until after the 10th game. On top of that the Aggies will essentially have three short weeks following the Winston-Salem game.
In week two they travel back three time zones on Thursday to LA and then travel forward those same time zones to return to Greensboro early Sunday morning.
Week three, count on jet lag to cut down some of the week's preparation.
Week four, a short week when they play Norfolk State on Thursday night.
If there are numerous mistakes in the first game the coaches will have very little time to patch them up and prepare for the next game. Plus you have a young coaching staff.
This team has to be pretty much on track starting in game one and this is a scary thought for all the Aggies.

WSSU 28, A&T 7 Will we be in the game until the fourth quarter. Can't expect all these new additions to the team to gel immediately. But we will be better. Pretty good, Thrilla.

Fobbs isn't a bad coach at all but Herb Miller might be better off at WR....seriously! I'm already calling for Shelton or another QB and a little more option run because we OBVIOUSLY can't pass the ball. Enough negativity, bring on PV

Shelton is not a viable option at QB. The most popular player on any losing team in the backup quarterback, but Morgan can not throw the football with any legitimate consistency. On his best day he is a poor man's Herb Miller.
The challenge is now for Coach Ray or Dwike, or whoever is the architect of this offense, to design a system that gets something out of Herb's skill set. He obviously can't read defenses, so I would try to minimize the amount times I ask him to throw into coverage.
Last night, the only pass play where a receiver looked wide open was on Wall's touchdown. And I think that was a result of the DB taking a bad angle on the ball.
