No baby sitter on Friday or Saturday meant we were in the bed by 10 PM on both nights.
Overslept for the parade but had a great time at the game and tailgating afterwards.
Went to Fun Fest on Sunday for a few hours with my oldest son.
Overall, I would rate this year's experience a A - - simply because of the win.

A- (Would be A+ but dealing with first timers they didn't understand the importance of getting tickets to the parties ahead of time)
Overall though had a blast for GHOE. Had 2 longtime friends from HS come up and they were in awe of how we get down at A&T. I mean not just the party experience they literally wanted the total package. They were buying A&T gear from bookstore, vendors, and any place they could get their hands on it. They LOVED the campus and vibe with all the people and the tailgaiting just blew their mind.
Already looking forward to GHOE 2012...

I got there Saturday just in time for the game and had to leave as soon as the game was over. The highlight of my day was running into James "The Bird" Sparrow after the game. I capped off my day by watching the BOA 500 from the luxury suite at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Didn't make it this year. I was busy dealing with that damn iPhone 4S launch in GA. I am booking our hotel room at the downtown Marriott asap. Its the wife's 5yr anniversary with DST so we will definitely be there. I hope to get an invite for one of the suites during the game.

Let me start off by saying that any A&T Homecoming that ends in a win is a great Homecoming. That said, here's the rest of my evaluation. I got there Thursday and attended the Business School's Entrepreur's Conference. It was great and I'm looking forward to attending next year. Then I played fair golf on Friday. Weather was great so who cares how bad I played. The Chancelor's reception Friday evening was good because this year we got to see and hear several students talk about how an A&T scholarship helped them. I really enjoyed the Sheriton Hotel experience this year. More "polite" alumni and less street thugs. I could actually get on the elevators without worring about how I was going to protect my wife from the loud drunk crowd. The parade was great, the Game Zone was great, tailgaters were pleasant and the band and football team were outstanding. Overall I give this Homecoming an A+. It was one of the best and anyone that missed it missed a great time. GHOE is now an understatement!

For us to win Homecoming for the first time in nearly a decade, there should be no question that this was set to be an A+ weekend. However I learned that later Saturday night/ Sunday morning a young man was shot and killed near Riverwalk apartments. (Not to be confused with the actual campus of NC A&T) I understand that some situations are beyond our control, but it pains me to think that a life was lost in the midst of one of the best weekends in recent memory for A&T.

Great Homecoming! A+, best in a while. I generally don’t see a lot of people from my era.
Friday was a long day as usual. Drove down, spent early part between the Sheraton, "The Yard" and Elm Street until about 5pm. Suited up for Chancellor Reception until about 8pm. Met Aggies era friends at the Boston House of Jazz (Tanya Ross performing - $15 cover) until about 11pm. Met one of my oldest friends (3rd grade) saying at downtown Marriott. We walked to Pallmetto on Elm (no cover - but live music, the band had a great sound). The vibe (as PJ would say) was great there. Picked wifey and daughter up at the train station (1:30am) back to Palmetto to finish late dinner and conversation. Back to Sheraton around 3am.
Saturday, no intentions of making the parade. Great game, wifey and daughter split after halftime, saw the usual suspects in the tailgate area. Shout-out to Captaggie and Gator for food and drinks, see ya on the 19th. I didn’t venture onto The Yard. Checked out the Aggie vendor area by War Memorial, good band was on stage. I'm not into all the vendor crap; art, jewelry, food, clothes, etc , but there was a decent crowd and a lot of vendors (I wondered how A&T gets a slice of that pie). Hitched a ride back to the Sheraton. Had dinner with wifey and daughter. Checked out the AAF Donor Appreciation spread. About two seconds before my eyes roll shut, friends called and they were in the lobby. Down to lobby until about 2am.
Sunday, breakfast and hit the road. Not a lot drinking, but long days and short nights and a lot of food. Needless to say wifey drove back. Thinking about coming down Thursday next year.

My wife and I got a chance to sit down and meet and talk to Coach Broadway at a AAF function and went away truly impressed. A fine gentleman, humble, sharp minded, a good sense of humor and one excellent football coach.

I want to say A+ simply because of the Win...
Friday: Arrived in the city and got situated. Went to the stepshow, where My Brothers of Phi Beta Sigma won their 7th consecutive Homecoming Title...I give the event a B+ (due to so many technical difficulties and the Host not really getting the crowd hype until late into the show). After that it was, to the sheraton for a quick hospitality suite visit and then to my Line Brother's house for a Cookout (yes, at 1am...LOL)
Saturday: 3hr nap then it was time for the 7am parade call... I carried the banner for the Aggie Livewires in the parade and cheered with the undergrads (yeah, I still got it...lol). After that made a quick stop to the on Campus Starbucks to get a Black and White Mocha (and they got a Mcallisters' where pizza hut used to be) After a full campus lockdown (yes ALL roads leading into Campus were shut off and i had to park on summit and walk to campus. I finally made it into the Game Zone and seated near the band. The Game was great and I was glad we won... B+
After the game: I walked the yard, visited some plots, hit up the venders. (SN: I made the mistake of wearing chucks all day saturday...i was in PAIN!). After that, I got cleaned up and made my way to the sheraton for a party (shoutout to the A&T Alumni Band). I hear the Que Party was live as well... A- just because i was hurting from them d@mn chucks! (lol)
Sunday: Made my way to the Sheraton vendors, and then to the fan zone to get my Yearly fish platter and then 40 East was calling my name...I had work at 9am monday morning (yikes!) A+ Good Music artist, Bangin' Fish plate (them jokers were HUGE), and a great way to end the weekend
Overall a good #GHOE, I was satisfied with the exception of all the roads leading to campus being shut down and spending a good 40 minutes manuvering my way around benbow to summit to park. Final Grade: B+
