I've had a chance to meet Earl on a few occasions now and he seems like he is seriously interested with hearing input for the A&T fanbase. I also know he is an avid reader of this message board.
Therefore, post some of your ideas, suggestions and complaints on this thread and hopefully he will take them into consideration.

Personally, my first suggestion would be to do something about the number of concession stands.
I literally spent the entire halftime waiting in line just to get a drink and chicken basket.
I would be great if there could be more than one food stand open on the home side. There was a chick-fil-a stand, an icey stand and a lemonade stands, but only one main food stand.
That line was crazy.

my suggestion is to seek out a sponsor for homecoming who is willing to finance the purchase of 22,000 gold aggie t-shirts to distribute to "everyone" attending the homecoming game. you see this being done in the nba and major college basketball a lot. there would be gold t-shirts throughout the entire "soldout" aggie stadium and it would be a beautiful sight to see! how does the sponsor get a return on their investment? well, on the back of the t-shirts they can put a big ole advertising logo of their company and everywhere those 22,000 people go that day they will be advertising that company. i really think the idea would work and i think a major company would be willing to do it. it would create a lot of aggie pride and a lot of our folk would continue to wear their gold aggie t-shirts at future aggie games. i would think a company could purchase 22,000 t-shirts at a discount because of the quantity being purchased. i'm guessing they could probably purchase them for about $3 or $4 per t-shirt...

That's a dang good idea.
1. Communication.
The news we get regarding the state of the athletic department is piecemeal at best. We're the stakeholders but we rarely receive information. That's not good.
2. Fundraising.
The one time of the year when you will have more stakeholders with more disposable income in their pockets is homecoming. You will have a captive audience of 21,500 folks with cash and willingness to spend at the game. Pass the collection plate. If you get each attendee that cares at all about Aggie Athletics (say, 10,000 of the folks) to give 10 bucks each, you just made $100,000 in four hours.
3. Fan Zone.
It doesn't really make logical sense to charge the price of a game ticket for entrance into the tailgate area. You are also capping the amount that can be earned by capping the number of people able to enter at the seating capacity of the stadium. Why not do the obvious and charge $5.00 for entrance to the tailgate area? Unless the goal is to keep a manageable crowd in the area. If that is the case, then it takes us back to communication, or a lack thereof.
4. Relationship with the News and Record.
I'm sure you've noticed that nobody on this board cares for the coverage we get from the News and Record. This is probably outside the purview of the athletic department, but we need to have students covering all (positive) aspects of Ayantee athletics and submitting articles to the News and Record. People's perception of Ayantee will be linked to what they hear from the media. We can control whether that perception will be positive or negative. If we continue to complain about the coverage and stick our heads in the sand when a crisis occurs, our brand and image will continue to suffer.

The gate beside the field house (Lindsay Street Side) should be utilized for stadium entrance. It makes no sense to require tailgaters from lot A4 to enter the stadium from the practice field side, then walk around the horseshoe to get to the reserved seats on the press box side.
I know they don't want the Chancellor's tent to be overrun, but just close off the access gate to the tent from the walkway.
Don't make all the tailgater's go around the world to get into the stadium.

Like Dooms said, "Communication".
We lost money by not having the internet feed up. I had a tight morning schedule the day of the game, so actually going would have meant arriving right at kickoff. To avoid all of that rushing I said, "I'll just watch this one online". To my amazement there was no sign of an online VIDEO feed. I had to listen to WNAA online. If I had known before hand that there was NOT going to be a video feed I may have actually made the drive. Revenue was missed out either way(gate, concessions, and/or online). And I wasn't the only one.
In short, let us know if there will be a video feed or not PRIOR to the game.

For additional revenue why don't we look into starting a stadium seat back program. Supporters can buy or lease them and local businesses can advertise on them as well.

That's a very good idea, but it may work a little better during basketball season. At Homecoming the women will be wearing their brand new outfits and they probably won't put the shirts on to cover it up. Also, it can get pretty cold during that time of year. Have this during a Monday Night ESPNU game (hopefully the NCCU game will be televised this year) and I think it will be a big success.

DOOMS hit it dead on the head. Aggie supporters always have to find some backdoor way to get news on our athletic department. It would mean alot to me if there was a running thread where you participated "regularly"... asking questions of us and answering our questions. Tell us your plans...give us your vision... As an Aggie Fan I feel like I'm moving but I'm not altogether sure where I'm going. The last ten years have really set us back. How do you plan on getting us back on track?

Just have a Gold Out or Blue Out for Home coming! That will cover the women' s out fits. But we all no that home-coming is about Fashion for both man and female . If we go with a Gold Out get the word out ASAP so that they can make the adjustments to Gold for the game.

Regarding the T-Shirt idea: The United Way in Greensboro would be an excellent organization to approach to do this. The just unveiled a new fund-raising campaign earlier this year and at Murray State, we did just that. Although it was during one of our Basketball games and they only had about 9,000 shirts printed up. Another great place will be the local car companies as well as the particular companies we work for. It doesn't take much for one of us to put the bug in their ears to get the ball rolling.

Yeah...I signed the seatback deal at FAMU beginning in 2007, and it has been a pretty good revenue-producer. Might be a problem with the permanent chairback seats already in place in the center sections at Aggie Stadium, though.

Suggestion:
Get a few sponsors to provide Jumbo TV screens and spread them around the Fan Zone to broadcast the game to fans who are not in the stadium. Feed the game to these TVs and provide advertising on the TVs during the game as a benefit to the sponsors. The cost would be minimal and it would allow us to sell more tickets for major games like NCCU and homecoming when there will be more people than the stadium can hold and therefore, more revenue.

yeah, and we'd be the first hbcu (that i know of) to do it. imagine the pictures that could be taken of our sellout crowd wearing all gold. how bout showing that to some prospective recruits! they'd freak out!
and an aerial view of the crowd would be completely off the hook! we'd see an aggie gold horseshoe. and then, imagine doing the wave when everybody is wearing gold... ;D
