Assistant Sports Information Director (Sports Marketing/Events/Facilities)
Our University Department of Athletics is looking for a dynamic candidate who can manage the coordination of all publicity and communications for assigned sports. The suitable candidate will also handle media operations for assigned home events; travel to designated away events; write and edit media guides, game programs, press releases, and game notes; and provide web content. Work will include the utilization of Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and StatCrew. Other duties include the coordination of the department's photographic operations, including assigning photographers for events and supervision of department's ongoing efforts to digitize all photo archives. In the office the qualified candidate will be the liaison with MEAC and CoSIDA, including oversight of nominations for academic and athletic awards, supervise student interns, and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Additional Salary Information:
Hiring Range $28,042 - $30,000
Requirements
Required Minimum Qualifications:
N.C. Office of State Personnel Requires: Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Supervisor requires:
Working knowledge of the sports information profession, and the ability to produce design and publication work with Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and StatCrew.
Preferred Experience:
- Bachelor's degree
- 2 or more years of employment in a college or professional sports information or media setting
- Exemplary communication skills
- General knowledge of NCAA Division I athletics
